To get the car to run I had to adjust the tranny linkage (since it's an automatic) and change the spark plug wires. Now to solve the other issues...
K so I need some troubleshooting help. Not everything is working. The dimming switch does not work, the back red lights do not come on with the headlights, and the fuel gauge does not display anything. I am using the 1989 gauge cluster with a 1993 festiva harness, would getting a 1993 gauge cluster make the difference with these problems?

K I will change the light switch then, but that still doesn't explain the fuel gauge not working. I think the orange cluster cannot read it because of the different wiring in the fuel pump.

Ya but the front grill makes up for it. That and the brake booster already extended to the proper side.

Trouble Shooting help:
K so I have two problems with the bp, both possibly minor or major.
1) The gauge cluster light does not come on with the headlights, and neither do the constant red glowing taillights with the headlights
2) The fuel gauge says full when full, but when the tank is 3/4 full it goes down to 1/2, and anything lower than that and it thinks the tank is empty.
How do I fix these problems? I am trying to finish the car for tomorrow,
thanks for the help
Tim

I fixed the fuel sending unit, but I have not yet fixed the gauge lights. Any ideas?

No, ever since the swap they never turned on. Including the instrument cluster back lights, or anything else for that matter that is inside and is supposed to light up when the headlights are on.
