Ooh, that's a little snug. Looks like you're making progress. Thinking about doing a carbed B8 swap on my 89. Not 100 percent sure yet, but if I do, I'm blaming it on Festyboy. He put the thought into my head.

Sweet progress. Make sure when you get your axles put in that you look and see that they are both at similar angles. Keep it going.

If you decide to carb the b8-me start a new thread on how to make it work! I have access to at least 3 1988 carb festivas very closeby and do not want to convert to efi to use my last engine. If it means $200-300 in aluminum welding and fab work its still a huge savings in the "time is money" dept.

the b6-me came as a carb in other countries but the intakes do not work as the 1.8 is longer, that was a dead end in about 45 seconds.

well i dont plan on puttin a carb on it. this car/project has been sittin long enough and i need a car quick. plus it would seem like alotta work that i really dont have any experience in.

oops just noticed what you were talkin about...lol

Carb to efi is not a hard swap. Ask skimsucka...

as far as making sure that the engine in straight in the bay, i ran string across from one side to the other, parallel with the valve cover to help make sure it was square.
