No b8 carbs exist? That's too bad.

I was just trying to look at ideas with the pieces I have already. I dont have the time and space to reharness a car. If that was the case I would go obd-2 and get a miata harness. I imagine there is plenty of aftermarket support for those. That also would blow the build on a budget out the window.

If it means $200-300 in aluminum welding and fab work its still a huge savings in the "time is money" dept.

the b6-me came as a carb in other countries but the intakes do not work as the 1.8 is longer, that was a dead end in about 45 seconds.

Already figured on having to fab up some sort of an adapter plate getting from intake to carb. Haven't researched it too much yet, as the idea was just put into my brain a couple of weeks ago. Just kind of looking over options, at this point. If/when I do go for it, I'll definitely be starting a thread. With lots and lots of pics. Cause we all like pictures.:p

Your water pipes look fine. That thing in question is a vacuum solenoid. I would just take it off. It's broken anyhow. Now all you have coolant wise is the 2 lines that go to the firewall. These are for the heat. One runs from the pipe that crosses the front of the motor. The other hooks to the underside of the intake towards the passenger side.

I'm no engineeer, but I'd say that rear mount is the weak spot in an otherwise great looking swap.

Liquid nails? You need big bolts or welding, in my humble "not an engineer" opinion.

yea i planned on running like two blots thru it so it would stay in place i have no access to a welder at the moment and this is all i have to work with but im sure this will hold up its pretty stiff and when i try and feel for any softness in the middle......well there isnt any soft spots but like i said im just gonna run a bolt or two thru it just for a lil extra insurance. but thanks for the opinions guys
