exhaust/intake cam swap, full exhaust, new tires, new injectors and a touch up on the tune is comming up....
or ill be putting it on hold for a bit and im gonna pick up a sidekick/tracker and save up for putting the turbo in the festiva... just do it all in one big step...
wow 15.7 that is what i am running in my festiva and its a 100% stock bp engine even down to the spark plugs and wires. I am working on getting mine t-charged as well.
im putting a bp26 turbo exhaust cam on the intake side.... or put it on the exhaust side and swap the old exhaust cam to the intake side... i dont know yet... then i think im gonna mess with the cam timing a bit too while on the dyno if there is time... i cant wait to hear what it will sound like with a 3 inch exhaust and ill try my best to have it there at westiva...

ok so i have been driving it for the last few weeks and i have figgured out lots of things wrong with it...
IF YOU WANNA SKIP THE LONG POST just read the last bit from the >>> on...)
the "coilovers" (ebay springs and adjusters) i have in the car are set to low and are stuck (cheap metal has sized together lol...) it looks good that low but it bottoms out HARD when i hit most bumps... so i need some "real" coilovers... and depending on what i get, it will be between 350 and 800 bucks... (raceland ones VS KW or Ksport ones...)
the injectors are sticking alot now... i have tried alot of things to get them to stop sticking but its not working... im gonna get some nice new ones that are bigger cc but will still give me a better idle than the ones i have now... but they are 420 bucks...
the exhaust is junk... no better way to say it lol... so that needs to be changed, and the mufflerS i want/need to put in are about 220 bucks and the v-bands are another 50 bucks or so... so thats 270 bucks
the intercooler, piping and t-bolt clamps im getting are 250 bucks once i pay for shipping and stuff...
wastegate, 250 bucks (im not trusting a china one...)
the exhaust manifold... all the stuff for that is gonna be about 150 plus shipping... and to get my exhaust piping, exhaust manifold and intercooler piping all welded up is gonna cost me about 50 bucks to pay my friend for his cost to run the tig welder... (gas and rods...)
i also need to change the rear motor mount to metal, not the rubber one i have now... its making my launch a bit scary...
new bigger fuel pump about 70 bucks off ebay...
i also need a new wideband, my old one is acting up even tho i just got a brand new sensor for it... it reads right, it just take forever to warm up... and its kind of hard to read in the day time, so im getting a new LC-1... about 350 bucks...
and i am putting 500 bucks to the side for other odds and ends like oil lines for the turbo, fittings, nuts and bolts, tune up parts for the motor and other things that i have forgotten about that i will need to compleat the turbo install...
so i have figgured out that just to get it running good again (injectors, exhaust, wideband and a re-tune) is gonna be about 1100 bucks...
and if i wanna put the turbo on it, its gonna be about 2400 bucks... with everything... and i know what your thinking... 2400 bucks is crazy, just to put a turbo on a motor... but if you do it RIGHT you wont have as many problems and it wont look like a blind monkey did it... i wanna do it right...
this isnt including the coilovers... so if i wanna get those on with the turbo 2800~3200 bucks...
>>> so what do these numbers mean? it means im taking a break from the festiva im gonna pick up a tracker/sidekick and drive that untill i get enough money to buy all these parts for the festiva... and when its finaly done and ready to drive again, its gonna be so bad @$$ just looking at it may overload your mind and cause it to blow up in a big ball of fire
ill keep all of you updated on parts i get over time and everything else that happens with it...
(wow, that may be the longest post i have ever made... anyone know why my fingers hurt? i cant figgure it out lol..)
Sounds good man. Unfortunate that you're gonna need to take a break to get the money. That's where I've been for awhile now though, and I've only got a bare shell right now...lol
I like to hear that you are putting the money into it to do it all well. No, I don't think $2400 is crazy, not at all. What turbo have you got in mind?
I can totally relate to the dam turbo parts costing too dam much, that why my turbo build has kind of stalled out... I want to do it right the first time without taking out a loan

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?
ya and i also am worried about the trans in the car... even on 10 psi i dont know if the trans will hold... so i may want to swap in a kia trans while im putting in the new motor mount... and im thinking ill make a new sub frame that will be solid mount so it wont flex and ill also add some traction bars at the same time... i think ill also get some 22x8x13 slicks at the same time... i think ill need them lol.... and maybe a cage... oops i just spent another 2000 bucks
