  • Shifter

Finished adapting shifter last night. Got it all welded up and installed. Just need to go to Home Depot and get some bushings. There is a lot of play. Going to hit it again tonight. Maybe electrical or finish cable clutch conversion. Plan to get the coolant system done too. Would be really cool to get her starting and running on her own this weekend but it is my wife's birthday so we'll see. Fingers crossed.

          • Running

Worked late last night and got her starting with key and running on her own power. Also replaced shifter bushings and it is like new. No slop at all. Hoping to hit it again today. Need to hook up coolant system, bleed and fill brakes, change oil, connect vacuums, finish clutch cable, do alignment, and install new muffler. Want it loud so we are considering going with a short Glasspack and coming out the side instead of the rear.

                • Almost Driving

Got quite a bit done last night. Finished electrical, installed the last heater hose, connect brakes, mounted fuse panel, installed new slimline coolant fan. All we have left to do to drive is bleed brake lines, fill all fluids, and complete exhaust. Purchased new glasspack and pipe; plan is to do a ps short mount in front of rear tire. Should be nice and loud. If all goes well we will be test driving this weekend. Look for the video...VROOM VROOM :tongue2:

                  • Finished Tonight

Finally got finished tonight. Completed the cable clutch conversion, filled fluids, flushed the brakes, and replaced the ps front brake line that was leaking. Got wheels back on and Neil was in the middle of filling the transmission with gear oil when he noticed a leak from the master cylinder. Parts house didn't have it in stock. Part will not be in until 2:00pm tomorrow. Tomorrow we will drive...can't wait.

                    • It's a Driver Now

Got the brakes bled and made a few adjustments. Took it for the first road test late last night. Can't believe how awesome this car drives. A little torque steer but not too bad; it will probably lessen once I get an alignment and new tires. The short ps mount glasspack muffler is loud and mean for such a little car. As soon as the weather gets better here I will post a video. Obviously there is still a lot of work to do but it sure is nice to have a driver again.

                        • Still working on the old girl. She was running great around town so I took her out for the first time on the freeway. BLABOOM...blew the radiator out completely (original part). So I am in the process of replacing that. Did get the sound system installed which is crazy sick loud.

Sorry no pics and late on the updates. I have had a terrible sinus infection for the last 6 weeks. Been terrible. But oics and progress coming soon.

                              • Got the new radiator installed. Cleaned up the disty too and everything seems to be running fine. Need to get gauges working and seatbelts installed so I can get her inspected.
