Some Festiva's had cruise on them, I believe it was a dealer install item but I'm not sure what is all involved with it

when i went to the yard to get my injector i got a intermittent wiper switch. it has a cruise button on it. it got me wondering how hard it is to install cruise on these cars? has any one tried installing it and what is done for the speedo reference

well i put about 50 miles on the car yesterday then the fuel injector orings exploded out the fuel rail and turned my car into a fuel sprinkler going down the road. it was shooting out from under the hood. never had one fail so bad but thats what i get for not changing the crusty old things. had to order new ones from rock auto because no one caries the full kit around here.

battery is behind passenger seat in the floor. i dont actually have a trunk since i dont have back seats in it. i plan on getting a small battery some day and put it where the factory b3 air box was. but for right now the relocation was cheapest

Awesome work sir! Did you mount your battery in the trunk? I love how the black intake manifold looks.

update time. got the bp in the car. used stock mount with spacer but it didnt quite fit like every one said it does. i guess cause im using the stock trans. i put a 1" spacer on the crossmember and rebuilt the front trans mount to lower it more. it fits now with out hitting any thing.. just barely. probably going to get a slim fan for it. also used stock water pipe and thermostat housing so i could use stock hoses and ac. working ok so far except my water pipe would not fit and had to be modded so i would clear the block. if it leaks i'm pulling it off and welding that joint with the stupid o-ring up
fired the car up and had a missfire.. or a dead cyl. pulled plugs and number 3 looked brand new. checked ign and it was firing, checked compression and it was 160 all the way across. pulled injectors and number 3 would not click. resistance shows good but it will not click. so i'm hoping changing that fixes all the problems and i can start getting some break in miles on the car. off to pull-a-part
here are some pics of the progress

front clearance

back clearance

engine mount

cross member spacer and sway bar clearance

trans mount

intake

i ordered some motor mount bolts and a/c tensioner bolts since im using the stock b3 mount and a/c. no one around here carried these crazy mazda size bolts... also got my ecu in and tested it out on another bp festiva and it works. i hope to start the swap sunLast edited by tls_zx3; 04-12-2012, 12:18 AM.

If I remember right when I did my old BP swap I just re-used the B3 TPS on the BP since I was re-using the stock B3 harness and my BP didnt come with a TPS lol
I'm not saying its perfect, but it worked

bp's engine is done. trying to figure out a few electronic things, such as my tps problem.

I have your answer for you. You cannot use the auto TPS since it is a 4 wire. There are plenty of people out there though who really want them for stand alone projects. From what I remember you have to replace the whole tb and use one off of a manual
