What psi you t3 super 60 guys running?Studs?MLS?1992 white L, Bp, American racing 13's, stock trans.
1991 White L, BP/F5MR, protege header, full aspire swap with gr2's, seats, and sway bar, 15" konig's, short throw, escort console.
1991 blue L, 5 speed.
1988 red L-plus-all stock.

Boost (positive pressure) is a measure of resistance... Basically it's saying, "I'm trying to stuff XXX CFM of air into the engine and I've overridden the capability of the engine to do it on it's own (natural aspiration)."Originally posted by 91mcnasty View PostThought it was relevant to the thread so I asked.
Why is boost irrelavent? Let's say we have the same turbocharger on two BP engines: they're the same in terms of displacement, valve count etc.
Engine #1 is straight out of a 1994 escort GT. BP26 manifold, some rigged up B6T intercooler tubing, 2" bent-at-The-local-muffler-shop exhaust.
Engine #2 has a cylinder head with over 30 hours of port work, 1mm larger intake/exhaust valves, custom billet camshafts that are degreed and tuned via adjustable gears, custom tubular intake manifold, equal length runner header, 3" exhaust with an open dump/divorced open wastegate.
Engine #1 makes 180whp/210tq on 14 PSI. It's very "peaky" with a triangular dyno graph (makes max power and instantly falls off)
Engine #2 makes 235whp/215tq on 14 PSI. It achieved peak torque later than engine #1, but in addition to making substantially more power in peak number it produced steady power across the curve. Under power, engine #2 produced an average of 45 more HP than Engine#2 at all times.
That example isn't too far-fetched, but it's the very reason that you need a turbocharger that's suited for your application. Big boost numbers means nothing except that there's a restriction somewhere, and they're a great excuse to start upgrading
