Can anyone tell me what to expect for 0-60mph on swaps like this? Some anal canal nearly ran me off the road today just to prove to his Mazda MPV full of 16-18 year old females that he could 'blow the doors off a Festiva' in a merge lane.
I really don't have complaints about my B3 and it winds out quite nicely through the manual gears, when provoked, (and today's situation didn't qualify) but I'm curious as to what a B6 or B8 can do when it's motivated.
My B3 recorded a 17.66 in the 1/4 before Greg stuck in the B6 w/rear turbo. It then dynoed at 111 WHP/127 ft lbs with a restrictive cat on it, and ran a 15.78 with a bad 60ft time, according to Greg. He estimated low 15s were quite possible. He only got one run in that night, due to unrelated track issues.

That MPV may have had a little 2.5 liter that can fit..
Not suitable for turbo though..
Don't let anybody tell you the bigger V6 is suitable,
some crazy festivite will solemnly swear it works..
Haven't timed it yet but it is quick when you get on it, I love the powerband of it! Very nice response, driving on the interstate is awesome now doesn't even break a sweat cruising at 70-80 mph, and pulling up to speed on the onramps is easy.
Im glad Bruce found a good home. Ive known Bruce for a long time and even drove it when it visited the ranch this summer. It does run good !

Finished lowering it tonight, on FMS springs all around now, love the stance
Drives noticeably better too IMO, the stock rear springs, under hard accelaration it squatted a lot! That was annoying to me, I hate soft, mushy feeling suspension.

How much did the spring swap lower it ? Does that have the aspire swap ?
I would guess at least a good 2 inches or so, no aspire swap... yet! On the list of things to do Once thats done it's getting VX's.

Thats just a guess, comparing it to the pics on the first page of this thread gives reference to stock height.

Holy cow, I miss that car. I need a time machine....
It's in good hands I'm only getting started on it! Excited for the aspire swap/vx wheels, bodywork and paint, and adding some more things to it..

The festiva IS a time machine. A running festiva takes you back to the times where fuel wasn't such a huge piece of your budget. "Performace tires" on vx's are 1/3 of what 17's and 18's are. Going from 25 to 40mpg combined buys you a festiva every year...figuratively?
