  • 2.3 turbo rwd swap in progress

As far as i can tell im the first to attempt this swap.
I have a 1984 svo with a mild built 2.3 turbo. Bigger turbo, t-bird ecm and vaf, turne ported and polished intake, stainless headder, hx-35 turbo, big fmic, external wastegate, bov, bla bla bla!
Also using the 8.8 rear with posi, and the t5 trans. Ive done alot of measurements and it can be done with alot of hacking and fab work.

I just pulled the engine and trans from the mustang and am doing a full suspension swap from the mustang in front.
It will have 17" wheels with some body widening to make them fit properly. And it will be aw disc breaks.
So far i have gutted the festiva engine compartment and am gunna start hacking up the firewall to build a trNny tunnel. The engine currently is tuned at about 300+ hp and with just injectors and a tune is good for 400+ with the mods it has currently.
I will post pics when i get some fime. Shooting to have this done by march due to only being home weekends bc i drive truck all week.

HE'S NOT GUTTING THE SVO,HE'S GUTTING THE FESTY. Both are a serious crime,I think we should make him go shoe shopping at the mall with my girls as punishmant. :nono: That'll fix em

Always wanted to see this swap. My brother-in-law that I bought my current festy from had an MX-6 with the 2.3T in it, and we always wanted to cram it in a Festiva somehow!

That's not a 2.3t. They used the Mazda 2.2 "F2T". Honestly stock for stock I like the Mazda engine better.

I think without pics that this thread could turn into yet another dead end thread with big claims and no results (no offense)

I hope if you actually have a genuine SVO it is severely wrecked or something. As much as I love Festivas, I can't imagine parting out one of the rarest model Mustangs if its at all salvageable. Even then, It still has value. The hood is worth more than most Festivas! There's a ton of Fox body cars and 2.3 turbo motors available for parts.
