Problay like 10-15, don't need much capacity, but the weight would help with traction

You are aware that you can probably sell the wvo witht he motor in it for far more than you will get by partin out the few valuable svo parts and scrapping it or selling the (now no longer svo) shell? I mean 2.3t's are like a dime a dozen, so many t birds and cougars and etc running around with them that aren't worth fixing once they break that the motors themselves aren't rare by any means. I'm not saying don't put one in a festiva, I'm just thinking its gonna end up making more financial shape to sell your svo whole.

              For the non-US guys:

              SVO 2.3 = Ford Pinto Engine? Than Ford Mercury = XR4Ti? = 2.3 SVO?

Yup that Pinto engine made it into a lot of cool cars...They did a really good job on the design. And there is still a lot of after market parts for it.The only bad thing is the transmissions are all rear wheel drive set ups. Dont forget the 86-88 Thunder Bird (Turbo Coupe) was a "Pinto Engine"

Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

I like Pintos. And that Ford Mercury XR4Ti is a nice car. Europe had only the V6 Cologne XR4.

                  Cool project by the way!

All the GOOD transmissions are RWD. Topaz/Taurus/Escort/ and anything else that was FWD with a 1.6/1.9/2.0/2.3/2.8/3.0/3.2/(maybe 3.3) engine will also work.

Yeah so whats wrong with 3-6k? Thats pretty much the market range for a rough driver up to a good driver right now. I can get a 2.3 from a T bird in the yard for $150. Full drivetrain for maybe $300? And without the motor whats the shell worth? $1500? at best? You get what I'm saying here padre? Take $6k for it and youre way ahead.

I can palm a medium sized turtle and stand on one foot at the same time while juggling goslings.

You see what I did there?
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

The problem is that nobody is interested in paying that much. I had it on cl for a month at 2200$ with 1500$ in brand new 17" motegi wheels and federal 30 series tires installed and people kept low balling me so i gave up, i dont like dealing with idiots who dont understand that i bought it a year ago for 3500$ and put 2000$ into it.

                            more pics

i just got finished test fitting the engine by itself. its all centered up in the car where it will be when finished. the crank pully has 1" of clearance and the head to firewall is also 1". it will clear the break booster also.
