I will admit, it will be an interesting swap. Hmmm..I have a 71 Pinto that would be good for such a swap.
There are no more SVO's around her that I know of. There used to be 2 that I knew of. Weren't the 86 1/2's the fastest? I always loved the turbo 2300 in the fox chassis's. I used to dream of owning a Turbo-Coupe.

2.3 turbo rwd swap in progress

Well since pics have been posted I've gained a bit of hope for the thread, but I'll get excited once I see the engine sitting in the festiva, I hope to see this go somewhere :thumbright:

      1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
      1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Woohoo! Would be cool if you could resize the pics to be OK to post full size so you don't have to click so much, but I'm being picky.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

Well I guess if your had to kill it.

Personally I would never had been able to. Production numbers aside, The SVO is one rare dude and is even more so since people just didn't keep them. Rust free and loaded except for wheels... Sorry that is sad. One day you will wish you had it. I have a bunch I wish I still had.

Re: 2.3 turbo rwd swap in progress

At least swap another drive train into the svo when the festy is done.

2.3t's are pretty much dime a dozen here. My first car was an 88 turbo coupe and it was gonna be replaced by an 86 turbo cougar. I sold the lot to a friend of mine that has two well built turbo coupes...one is very competitive at the local scca autox scene.

Now my dad has a full turbo coupe drive train sitting around that he says is going into the 81 fairmont out back. He'll never get it done though.

The wing dosent have any cracks just faded paint and the side deals in front of the rear tires are still good. Econoaddict might have me a buyer for the whole shell but i havent decided to sell anything yet. I will let yah know. If i wind up scrapping the shell i will pull all the hard to find parts including the gauges.

This should be interesting! My Dad has 2 86 Jalapeno Red SVO's. One was his daily driver for years and the other he bought wrecked.....with 32,000 original miles on it. He also has half a room full of NOS parts for it including new steering wheel, hood, hood scoop trim piece and upper and lower wing

Yeah i was told im the 5th owner of this car, the guy i got it from has been a ford mechanic for 20+ yrs. It has 102,000 mi.
Im hoping i can get the svo seats to fit in the festiva too bc they are pretty comfortable and have good high bolsters.

Im gunna be home tonight so i will try to get some more pics of the festy deconstruction posted.

I just noticed they are small enough to post full size.
I understand the non techy thing, though. Is cool.

                            1) I love svo's and they are one of the few mustangs I covet. They are still quite expensive around here or I'd try to get one.
                            2) My brother has had a few 2.3 turbos with mild builds in the 300 hp range. They are a large displacement 4 cyl and very good power under the curve with a moderately sized turbo.
                            3) good luck fitting the seats, just measuring the festiva, you will notice how narrow the seats in there are. I was trying to see if the escort GT buckets I have might swap over but it looks like they would be too wide and too tall.
                            4) have you thought about turbo lag plus the fiesta wheel base? This thing is gonna be stupid squirrely, and thats before you bestow it with possibly questionable rear suspension geometry!!

The car will be difficult to keep in a straight line for sure, even in the mustang it got scarry a fiew times. It disent have much lag, it builds full boost at 3200 rpm and will hit 30 psi in an instant. When it was in the mustang i was getting 28mpg driving it nice so
in the festy it should still be able to get 30+ mpg. I still have a full 1.6t swap in boxes including the xr2 trans and axle shafts ect..... not sure what im gunna do with all those parts.
I dont think the seats will fit either but it would be nice.....
