^ good info, thanks. yea i came across the info i was looking for a few min ago when i searched mx6 instead of probe. i knew it had to be pure mazda because i didnt think ford could make something that revs over 7g's lol

KDLE swap!

The KL engine is a Mazda engine. Ford owned Mazda when the Probe was made ( hence the Probe chassis is the same as the MX6).

*edit* The Probe uses the KLDE and the Japanese Millenias and MX6's used the KLZE which is the same as a KLDE except for the camshafts, upper intake design and the calibration on the ECU, which meant the JDM KL made 200 crank horsepower but the Probe KL makes only 160 hp.

I just want something that will be cheap to run at first so I can beat the crap out of it this summer, Ill look into getting a KLZE when the DE blows. Than build the DE with a supercharger. Maybe.

Defprun, that Ford emblem is looking great! When you grit up, see if you can go to 250 or 300, then use some polishing compound after you tape off the sides of the lettering to keep the black safe. Finish with some Mothers, and that logo will blind you!

Hey now.... :p. You're looking at someone who tests engines for Ford. I can assure you that the new 5.0 will rev to 7250 and the Boss I have personally seen rev to 7800. But I get what you mean by that lol.

LOL no doubt. I know Ford has the ability to make a good engine but for whatever reason they choose not to for the most part, heck even Buick made the grand national then let it fall off the face of the earth and act like they forgot that the alien technology existed to make such a car lol

Partsource F'd up and gave me the wrong spring compressor, and they don't have the proper one back yet. So the struts are on hold...Chris has my harness though!! No rush since I have all that work to do, and it's bloody cold. Next week I plan on ordering some drivetrain components which will allow me to start lining stuff up.
