I gotta say, this car's really growing on me. I still have my turbo from Larry, which can be rebuilt for under $20 for the rebuild kit; it should be a good match for this motor too. Be nice to have a Festy with 130+ WHP (@9 lbs) and still get 48 MPG off-boost. Tires-wise, I'm thinking 165/70x13 Achilles Platinum on the stock steelies; better than the el cheapo 155/80s I have, and still a sleeper. For clarification on my dyno numbers--just talked to Matt D. about working on my B6 head, and also told him what I got with his car on the dyno. He said that 85 WHP sounded about right; when he dynoed it as NA, he got 115, but with E85 gas and an NA cam. Dan will upload the video later. We made two runs, and the results were the same both times. Both cars ran fine. We started about 10-20 MPH and did a roll-on in 2nd. He had me early due to greater torque, but once I hit third Matthew walked away from Dan's car. When I shifted into 4th I was well ahead. Dan's car is hampered by a terrible intake mani. I would like to see him put the Weber on the lower half of an EFI manifold, with a suitable adaptor. He also has heavier tires/wheels. It went down like I thought it would .... I have a lot of torque off the line and weak top end, and tom has not much torque, but an incredible top end ...
.....so I ate him up through 1st - 3rd gear and then ...he passed me :sad:
But it was all fun .... and we both have nice cars!!! :mrgreen:

Sorry its really crappy, as no one was around to vid us, I rigged my camera up on a "rigged" mount in the rear speaker panel so we at least had something to show for it!
You can see Matthew and Tom through my rear side window as I get the hole shot, and he dissappears behind me, and then reappears as he passes me down the stretch! Good times! LOL
