In seriousness, the torque is there already, it was decided by all the airflow mods done by Matt. The cam gear can help move it around to produce more useful power, power that's under the curve (and before 6,000rpm).1989 Carby L: Stock. Slow.

I'd honestly rather have the 8v engines. Therefore, a b6 makes sense to me.1989 Carby L: Stock. Slow.

I said "basically" bone stock...i.e. it has no mechanical mods or power adders such a boost or giggle gas
Also, I have the dyno graph and video to back it up. Not to mention at least 4 other forum members who were there during the run. So you can apply your optimism to your car but not mine only because I don't charge $200 for a reground cam?

Car looks great, and made awesome numbers Tom, congrats.
Is the car more rusty, than Larry? I see your making it comfy too, those are the best mods. Feel them all the time, not just when your wide open.-Greg

Also, I'll bet it's an apples-and-oranges situation with the dyno. Which one did you use? Then there's operator skill and how it's set up. I'll bet a Dynojet like the one at the facility near Greg (Beach Dyno) will give me better numbers. Plus those guys actually know what they are doing.Last edited by TominMO; 12-05-2013, 01:06 PM.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

Very true. Just curious about rust for the long term, I know at some point you'll decide to keep one or the other, but I think you should keep both. I'm also curious of the mpg of the mighty b3. Should still get decent mileage.-Greg

No question I'm keeping Larry. So then the issue is, do I need two similarly-equipped fast Festys? (Since Larry will be upgraded.) I'm considering having you install an F tranny so I can get a better clutch, then have Matt do his thing with the B6 head, cam, intake and header. He is talking about well north of stock BP power with an NA B6. Believable, considering where Matthew is. Like Brad, I am a fan of the "small-block" Festys! Selling Matthew would finance Larry.
Also, I could pull the fun parts off Matthew and install 'em in Danny; then put a stock B3 head on Matthew and sell him as a nice DD, with Matt's header as a bonus (since Danny already has a new DAE B3 header).90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods
