      ^I wouldn't expect it would.

Someone else mentioned chipping in for another run after some de-kinking. I'd be in for that if you do go that way.

I've read that using a straight percentage to "calculate" crank HP doesn't really work either. So many variables go into it.

Here is a link to a calculator. Even it calls itself a guestimator.

Oh, and FWIW your best case scenario of 105whp in this app says 128hp crank. Hmm.

            That's a 100% increase. Bump the compression up to 11:1, a little boost and e85 on megasquirt...250+?

Also considering we have no 1:1 and 4th is 0.861:1 you could theoretically be seeing 14% under reality. That's already 104.5whp, and the ideal scenario goes up to 119.7whp. Obviously I'm way off in theoretical land, but still.

I believe his compression is already at 11:1
I bet there's a lot of power left on the table running on the stock ecu.
Go standalone and let's see its true potential.

Its a stock bottom end. I don't think the head work is gonna give you that much.

Just had a long chat with Matt. Long story short, the shop guys didn't know how to operate a dyno. No inductive pickup on #1 plug wire (which would have given the tach signal they needed!), no fans in front of the car, they weren't even gonna raise the hood, but I did it anyway.

Also, the cam in Matthew is a turbo cam, which makes very good torque as opposed to peak power. If anything it might be a quicker cam in the 1/4 than a peak-HP cam, and is certainly very daily-drivable. Matt dynoed it up to 6K RPM, not wanting to hit the fuel cutoff, but says the HP numbers were still climbing at that point. This is what I felt too, when I did a roll-on with it. So getting rid of the fuel cutoff via MS or some other standalone would be a good thing.

Not sure what the compression is. Hafta axe him.

Edit: Matt also said that running it in 3rd gear would have been better; and that I couldn't just pump in E85, I would need either larger injectors or 85 PSI for the stock injectors, or I'd quickly kill the motor with a too-lean condition.

If the HP numbers were still climbing, I'd want an adjustable cam gear stat.

Don't get me wrong I love my swap, but I'd be more impressed at a "stock engine" doing the same thing.

I wonder what a nice b6 bottom end would do here?

By an amazing coincidence, I just happen to have one of those! But in my experience with Matt's MPG cam, the middle of the sweet spot turned out to be with the cam gear at zero, so I'm not too sure we would get much if any more out of Matthew by turning the cam gear; and at $75 a pop, that's expensive tuning!

I'm more inclined to going with a standalone and a dual-core radiator, to control heat at the higher RPM range.

Tom, sounds like you need to get Matthew into a better shop in the area. Those guys didn't seem to know what they were doing! I've always seen fans running during dynos. And yeah, I would have thought they have some way of gauging rpm without tapping into the system or something. Like the inductor coil thing Matt was talking about. Sounds like you need to find a better shop. I'd gladly give you 5 bucks to hit another dyno with it. I'm sure a couple other members would pitch in too.
