    • Can you post up what your running for a ring package? What composition, thickness and end gap. This is critical on these b engines and the topic of much discussion in these parts.

      • Small update. 7500-7900 rpm. My bad. I do not have a clue on ring specifics but I do know for sure he is VERY specific about the ring pack he is using. I will post engine specifics when it is all done. Sorry I just don't know right now.

        • Do you know what coatings he went with? Was anything else coated such as crank, cams or valves?

            • nothing new. I have tranny spread out on bench. Plan on finishing it the week after Christmas and also plan on doing a lot of the wiring too. That time of year when a lot of work is about to get done.

              • How difficult are these trannys to rebuild. I have one that real bad from running dry and another one with a leaking shifter seal that I'm afraid will run dry.

After getting the stock support off it became obvious to me the need for more strength and/or a stiffer front end.

It is also removable for easier engine removal/work etc. plus more room for intercooler. Got a couple ideas on that one already.
What had to be done to get the stock support off. Do you just cut it out?
