I put in b6d fuel injectors and turned the base pressure down. I needed 20lbs for those injectors to mimic the flow rates of factory festiva injectors. I'm going to be running a 5-6 to 1 ratio fmu which is made for bigger injectors than factory. Since my aem fpr could only go to 24lbs of base pressure I'll mix my fuel before hand with e85 so it's leaner amount of fuel.

    • I put in a bigger fmu disk today, was running the 3:1 now 7:1. I wasn't getting any pressure rise before, and in still not. I hooked the air hose up and blew into the fmu and my fuel pressure gauge spiked, 90+ psi. But when I'm driving, I can get my boost up to 4 or 5 before it goes to missing, and my pressure isn't rising, what's up? Frustrated

      • Where is your boost line connected? Is the port plugged?

The vacuum nipple on the throttle body. It seems to suck tons of air if the hose at the fmu is unplugged

          • Dumb question, but I gotta ask. You don't have a check valve in the signal line do you?

              Nope, no check valves

              • I know it's making pressure, because my vacuum boost gauge is referenced from the same port. Could I have too many things hooked to one port?

                • No, if your gauge is reading boost then your fpr should be as well.

                  • So it made it up to 8lbs of boost today. Still seems to not be gaining ample fuel pressure from the fmu. I'll probably pull it apart this week and see what kind of problems it has, do some out of vehicle testing with it. It's such a let down going from turbo b3 to na b3. You'll be driving and apply partial throttle and keep waiting for that boost to pick up, and it never does

                    • The turbo setup does great at partial throttle, but I think my tps is faulty because at a perceived 60 percent throttle position, it stumbles on itself a bit, even if it's not into boost yet

                      • I just really wanted to drive this on fmu only fuel control before I switch to ms3.

                        • Use a multimeter to test your TPS. I didn't know the Festiva had the variable resistor type TPS. That could definitely be worn if that's the case.

                          • I don't think it has a variable type resistor.

                            Edit:

It reads idle, wot, or neither.

It can come out of adjustment though. The little gear is made of plastic, mine was wore out enough to have quite a bit of slop. Pop the cover off and you will see what I mean. The way to calibrate it is in the fsm. If you need me to I can snap a photo and post it.

If you could that would be great,

                              • I know my spare says 1.5, 70. Just past idle, and close to wide open throttle.
