Other than that I stripped most of the wiring harness, took a lot longer than expected and my back is sore from working on the ground in the drivewaylol

robotrob, don't stop. Wire in some progressive power door locks, power windows, power antenna. You can get extra OEM terminals and connectors from easternbeaver in Japan.Last edited by bravekozak; 05-29-2016, 07:08 PM.

thanks for the encouraging words guys.. i should get this chopped out sooner than expected, luckily i have experience wiring up a 4G54T into a mitsubishi scorpion/challenger, an RB25T into a Datsun 720, a 16v Baleno 1.6 into a Suzuki Sierra and a EJ-VE into a Daihatsu L200 mira
the 98 WF festiva donor car runs a full Kia Avella Delta ecu, wiring harness etc... alot of that wiring in the car is from the Kia Unit-TWS (total wiring solution) my vague understanding is its like a BCM module and depending on trim levels they have different features, like on our ford falcons the base model has a black BCM and the Fairlane has a brown one and thats what gives it interior light delay and door chimes and other stupid stuff like that.. do your aspires run a TWS unit and any idea what it actually does?
also wikipedia says B5 8v only goes up to 97 and festiva 95-00 runs a B5-ME 16v... my engine runs a map sensor.. doesnt have an airflow meter.. im starting to get my hopes up that its the 16v 77kw engine... square bore 78x78.3 bore should have a lot of potential for high rpm with a B6ZE head.. and if i can swap the sensors and use the siemens ECU with the map sensor.. gosh im day dreaming now
if the Kia map sensor is 0v at absolute pressure (full vacuum) and 5v at atmospheric... i suppose if i swapped for a 1 bar map sensor the scale wouldnt go over 5v for positive pressure it would just be recalibrated? i got no idea, but its a "learning ECU" so 4or5 psi shouldnt hurt right? worst case run a 5th injector or a gumtree cheap wolf 3d

actually.. ill have to check the door locking mechanisms now to see if they are electric and if they swap over

Got up to go to work this morning and remembered that I organised someone to pick up the shell today while I'm at work.. So quickly cut the handbrake cable, I figured I can cat my right hand side section to free up the main section, and then use this right hand side bitalso the left rear brake hardline on the axle is shorter so I grabbed that, mine now is pulling at a funny angle

Hit the state library because they had a few ford factory WF Festiva workshop manuals.. I don't understand why they spread the wiring info across so many volumes, instead of printing a full section every wire trails off to "refer section B2-1c"
Managed to transcript a pinout for my ecu though
If I can get my engine crane back off a mate looks like I might drop the efi B5 power in this week

Fitted my depowered power steering rack this afternoon
(I put a piece of hose between the two lines after I took this pic)
Barely have neutral toe at the moment but WF LCAs should fix that
Swapped the WF Festiva tilt column at the same time
It's the tiniest bit longer but it makes no difference
Only modification required to fit column:
And a big washer on the bolt obviously lol
Steering column plastic shroud thing was already moulded for the tilt lever, I was going to swap to the newer indicator/wiper switches and rewire the rear wiper on the dash to the column but then I realised the WF has the hazards on the dash not the combination switch so it all became too hard since I already had intermittent wipers lol
Tomorrow I should cut my springs, degrease my motor and reseal the sump.. If I can get a hold of an engine crane I will get the B5 in for sure seeing as it's a long weekend lol, still need to acquire a 3 door efi tank but I pulled the pump out of the donor tank so I can hack it into my carby tank untill thenLast edited by robotrob; 06-03-2016, 11:11 AM.

Ended up cutting another coil off all round, so 2.5 coils cut all round and it's not overly low, haven't had a chance to take the skinny bolt out of the strut to check camber yet but will do
Got a Honda short shifter off eBay, The shank on the Mazda bolt was too big to fit through the bearings at the bottom of the new shifter so I hat to cut down a 12mm bolt and wrap the shank in tape to get a friction fit on the bearing.. Plan on getting a Honda bolt with the right shank.. Regreased the white cup bushes in the shifter and I had to cut a coil off the retaining spring to get it to fit back together, I think the ball on the new shifter is slightly bigger. The Honda shifter is ~20mm longer bellow the ball than the stock shifter but a little shorter above it
The bushing on the bottom of th old shifter was completely missing, and I semi replaced the one with the bolt on the front knuckle with a bit of black poly-pipe... Still need to grind off the stud that's welded into the other one and find a suitable bolt to do the same.. Ugggh. Shifter is 20 times better than it was before but I think the knob is a little too low now.
I also got a second hand front right indicator/parking lamp that isn't busted up.. Took off my headlight protector and realised the right hand headlight is pushed back in on the insideoh well, protectors go back on, maybe I'll clean them up and tint them
Also still to arrive are some Mazda B2600 clear indicator lenses for the bumper that I'm hoping are a direct fit
Pictures to come

Ugggh.. Found some second hand 185/55s advertised for 5 for $70, asked the bloke his best price and he said $25 the lot... Got there and it was 3x 195x60 and 2x 185x65s... So I got the 2 185s seeing as I just drove 45minutes lol
Need a 5mm spacer and trim the back bumper and it'll be fine
Fronts just needed the lip folded over.. Full lock left rubs but full lock right doesn't, think my LCAs are moving
