My old '87 Conquest and my '92 Miata both require you to hold the handle up. I had to read the owners manual for the Conquest when I bought it to figure out how to lock the doors. There is some interesting and helpful info in the owners manual, who'd have ever thought that...'88 L- B6d-Sidedraft Dellorto Carbs-G-Series-Advanced Suspension

My motor is here. It was super filthy when I got it but I've been cleaning it up littly by little. I'm heading out to pick up a 5 speed today. After that I'm going to start working on mounts and a distributor. The junkyard neglected to mention that it had been robbed for parts. It's missing a crank pulley, water pump pulley, timing belt cover, the coolant tube for the heater core return and the timing cover is damaged. I guess it'll cost the same as the rest of the motors I was looking at in the end.

It may be possible to swap the control modules between the carb'd festiva distributor and the B6D distributor to get something that works. These late 80s/early 90s iginition systems really aren't that complicated. From what I can tell the carb'd festiva and the B6D use something similar to Ford's duraspark II were the electronics replaced the coil firing system (points) and still used a vacuum canister. I'm not sure if they have weights under the pickup, someone mentioned that the festiva does and I have a spare B6D distributor that I'm going to careful take apart to investigate this some more. This type of system shouldn't be that hard to set up as sort of a stand alone as the only thing you need to do is ground the coil.
The BP and the 90-93 B3 used something more like TFI were the ECU is handling RPM and vacuum advance by dwelling the coil with a separate module to keep all the electrical noise out of the ECU.

Big thanks to wwwdotgov, now I have a 5 speed for the swap, spare axles, shift linkage and front calipers. Looking forward to your build thread Sir.
Over the next few weeks I'll be powdercoating the valve cover and getting all of the misc. crap I need for the swap. The plan is to have a completely ready plug and play swap ready to go to minimize downtime. I think I could have it done in a weekend if all goes well.

I know I haven't posted too much lately but here's an update of sorts. The festiva is at a bit of a stand still. I have 3 other vehicles that I'm trying to sort out at the moment. The seller of the enkeis never shipped the wheels so ebay refunded my money. I'm actually okay with that because I wasn't 100% on the 13x6's. I used the money to but a set of Watanabe's in 14x6+25. That payment was sent this morning and hopefully I will have them soon. This friday I'll be paying advancedynamix for a passenger mount. Once that gets here I can start test fitting things. As of right now I have to drive the festiva because of issues with the other rides. My E36 is lent out to a friend and I'm working on the trucks. I have one 2wd and one 4wd nissan hardbody. The 2wd runs and drives but the 4wd has a blown head gasket. This saturday I'll be moving the good motor from the 2wd into the 4wd so I can have a good towing rig. The plan is to sell the 2wd shell, rebuild the spare z24, sell the E36 when I get it back in october and use the money from that to buy a trailer or a frame tow setup. I learned from my last car that racing your daily is a bad idea. My sweet 1990 crx with b16 and jdm front was the learning curve I needed. I blew the motor 2 hours away from home and had to tow it back with a civic cx. That sucked.
After the truck is all set I'll be picking back up on the festiva. I'm guessing about a month and a half and I'll be back to the aggressive festiva build. Thanks for visiting.

YES!!! Now this may not seem like a big deal but this is huge for me. I have been emailing back and forth with Corksport since June about a header that they had on ebay. It was an mx3 header that they listed twice. The first time it didn't sell and the second time I missed the auction. A guy in germany purchased the header but he didn't want to pay the shipping cost. after much waiting and emails, Corksport finally said I could have it. I scored this puppy for $100 taxed and shipped. When I was talking to Derrick at corksport, He said they would make more but only if the order was 25 or more and paid in advance. The one I have was their shop demo model. I am very lucky to have gotten this one.
