Festiver build thread

Sorry if this is the wrong forum I'm new and was told to post a build thread and really don't know where to put it but I own 1993 festiva L 240k miles injection 5 speed
aspire brake swap (came in handy a few times)

currently working on a 1.8 bp swap still getting everything ready if anyone has any tips or experience doing it I'd love the help

expedition roof rack

97 aspire mirrors and seats

16x8.5 wheels with 205/40r16 nittos

full 3" exhaust system

cut springs with spring spacers to make it a stiff ride

Checkerboard roof (duct tape) and front end (very thin cloth)

Going to be painted flat white soon

I take it you don't have those wheels on for inspection... or the cloth for the lights? Where abouts in PA are you?

Awesome, Welcome to the Forum. I thought I was going wide with 6.5 inch wheels but I guess not. Search through the forum for the info on the 1.8 swap, a lot of people have done it and posted about it.

Bangor area and nah I'm good till November and I have a set of 13s steelies that I was running till last week

Awesome, Welcome to the Forum. I thought I was going wide with 6.5 inch wheels but I guess not. Search through the forum for the info on the 1.8 swap, a lot of people have done it and posted about it.

Haha I thought it'd be too wide but it actually fits really well I have full lock no rub and I've been looking no luck with the stuff I don't already know from how to guides

So... Will you be driving it to Festiva Madness X? If I'm not mistaken, it is the biggest Festiva Meet in the states. It will be held on Oct 1st right outside of Raleigh NC. This will be my first year going... Super Excited!!

Glad to see you got your build thread up! The car looks great, I like the cloth on the front, I have never seen anyone do anything like that! Gotta love unique Ideas. The exhaust and Wheels are a nice touch as well, the car is going to look pretty cool in white. Any plans for painting/finishing the wheels when you paint the car?

Also, definitely try to make it to Madness 10 this year! It should be my first, I'm pretty excited.

So update on the bp swap I'm not gonna machine it and rebuild it I pulled the intake manifold and found light carbon build up evidence of the engine spending most of its life just under the torque band (the intake valve is still slightly open during detonation and pushes carbon into the intake) so I'm just gonna say funk it, clean the oil pan and bp swap the festiver I save the g series and rebuild for later when I have more money and more time rn I'm spending ALL of my money on festiver and I still have a long financial journey ahead to build the bp right so funk it the bp will at least make highway driving better 80% of my driving now that I work in NJ
