Sounds like the iac. Try unplugging it . You will probably have to turn up base idle after unplugging it .
I've nevery had a bp but my b6d was doing the same thing and it was the iac I haven't had it plugged in in 4+ years with no issues.

Your ignition timing and tps will both affect idle as well if the idle valve is disconnected. Mine is unplugged now too because it went crazy a few months after I built Pedro. My idle is rock solid now at 1100. Higher than id like, but it's fine.

Tagged you both in this my iac was never connected it turned out to be the vaf the only thing I didn't touch yet I tuned it to be a little richer now it idles perfectly at 1k and returns perfectly thank you a ton for the help though

Update festiver is doing great no leaks barely any blow by and pulls like no tomorrow runs very cool probably because no bumper or grill no fan though don't. Know why temp guage works new fan works but they don't work together oh well I'll just get a manual switch it a inline temp switch

festiver is doing very well had a hiccup with the shift linkage bolt but that's fixed and the upper rad hose started to pop off because I'm a dummy who forgot to clamp it but thats good too now just the hood pins (hood lock won't go back) also my thermostat wont open so that's ordered on its way also there's a whining only under throttle once I'm in 4th and 5th axle maybe? They don't seem that angled

Thinking the trans is a bit low on atf maybe I need to dump that out and go to gear oil or synchromesh not really sure but thermostat should be here today then I just gotta put the steel bumper back in finish the exhaust and maybe retorque the head as I'm burning coolant only when cold

Riding on cut aspire so I don't really know springs need a new job before the new suspension comes in

Went on a hour and a half drive very mixed driving lots of highway car did great besides my not tightening an exhaust clamp tight enough rip exhaust mid pipe separated and was dragging the clamp on the ground I'll fix that today also had this wiring problem I couldnt figure out over pumps the car would lose chassis power turns out to be the diagnosis block in the engine bay the main power one was loose
