They only problem with that is you won't be able to make the same amount of horsepower within the same octane range as forced induction simulates displacement as well as increased compression less boost less simulated displacement less horsepower granted it's not a terrible idea if you only wanted say 200hp but strong off boost of course if he went to higher fuels like e85 he could probably get the same HP numbers as he could with 93 on 8:1 with more boost it's all give and take 9.4:1 is decently high I'm not sure how many psi of boost it'll take to max out his choice of fuel

Oh my b I don't know why I thought he was doing a drag build yeah the higher compression less boost should be a good thing lol just my 2¢

instead of putting like 16lbs through a tiny over worked little vj14 from the 1980s with like 8.7-1 compression

i'm going to run like 8 to 10 lbs of boost through a perfectly efficient gt2554 with 9.4-1 compression

Theoretically it should be much more reliable, responsive, and more power.

Yeah, that's a better setup. The 2554 should match the 9.4 engine well.
The biggest problem with running high compression on the b6t is the short exhaust manifold and tiny wastegate on the VJ turbos is a recipe for melting pistons. The 7.8:1 keeps the pistons safe. A better flowing turbine will help this, as well as the Garrett's larger wastegate. Ideally, a long runner manifold and external gate would be used. Putting that under the hood of a Festiva is a challenge to say the least.

so the project got derailed, as per usual.

Decided i wanted to take part in some winter activities so i threw the car up in the air and did a whole bunch of work:

Deleted the IAC and all the plumbing, new plugs, wires, cap, rotor

Aspire swap, new control arms, bushings, new calipers, new pads, new disks, new control arm bushings, new tie rod ends

Went out ice racing. car worked great! The b6 is running like a peach now, might leave it in for the summer and focus on the suspension/chassis development. Finaly found the perfect recipe for ice racing after way too many years racing festivas:

                        1) festiva front swaybar
                        2) aspire rear swaybar/swap
                        3) new struts (not blown ones as i originally thought worked)

                        suspension shot:

4 point harness mounted, works great actually like it more then my 5 point. Nice and thin/livable

                        brand new car under there

                        the turd ready for battle!!!!

so i went to the rally cross, finished mid pack. Given 90% of the competition was using studded tires and or had AWD i think i did great

sorry for the swearing, didnt realize how animated i was when i drive, This was on a frozen lake, no studded tires and no e brake. Give it up to the festy chassis to pull through. With an open diff and some handy left foot breaking, i managed to finish mid pack!!!

Looks like fun! Time for a quicker steering rack!

That setup will make the car want to rotate. That is what I ran when I was mostly autocrossing to speed up the tight corners by letting the rear rotate.
