ok so I have the Capri big break swap, last fall one of those stupid Iowa Bambi's played chicken and won, and I am quite proud to say I didn't hit him, yup it was close. What should I be doing different to make it a good system.

There are several master cylinder/booster upgrades that seem to work great.
I've got a M/C and booster from a non ABS 99 Miata on Pedro and it works extremely well. It required a .750" longer rod end that connects to the pedal, and a Volvo line plug (9 bucks on eBay).
Other people have had great luck with 2001-2005 KIA Rio m/c booster combo or the Aspire m/c and booster.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Got my 1984 Cressida running again and out of the garage so I put this in the garage for further parting out and getting running. Gotta ghetto-rig a fuel pump to it so I can verify that the engine indeed works fine.
Also I got all my brake stuff from Rock Auto but I'll post pics when I start replacing stuff.Last edited by chrisofna; 04-01-2017, 11:34 PM.Current cars:

No picture updates but I had a coworker design some slotted camber plates for the rear of the Festiva (based on pics I got from AdvanceDynamix) and having some test fit parts (3d printed plastic), I'll be getting the parts in in about 7 days. Also got all the stuff to rebuild the rear brakes on the Festiva which are all prepped and ready to install.Current cars:

Got the Crapi running, all the injectors was clogged. Has a valve tap but I think the car was sitting for 7 years so the I think the HLAs might be a little gummed. Going to put an oil pressure gauge on it just to check 100% but it runs and the oil pressure on the notoriously-innaccurate Capri gauge reads 40-50psi on startup.Current cars:

I agree on the mechanical gauge for checking pressure. I drove my donor Capri XR2 half way across country with no problems and it never showed over 30 psi on the factory gauge. I didn't think the reading was correct. Got back home and got busy for several months with the car untouched. One night on a whim I yanked the engine fully knowing I would regret not trying to check the oil pressure with a gauge. Now it looks like it goes back in the car to be checked after I get it running. I get the feeling I may have caused myself a whole lot of extra work by not doing things in the correct sequence. Let us know what kind of pressure you see. Good luck on your build!'88 Festiva LX 5 speed, A/C, Carb, restored $$$ body paint, badly wrecked @ 200k.
'93 Festiva L, 5 speed, Aqua, bought from the original owner,.Zero rust but very nasty otherwise. Awaits the B6T.
'91 Festiva L, 5 speed, bought to drive while putting the B6T in the '93. now B6ME powered.

The lifters can take an hour of run time to pump up. They can be stubborn, even on squeaky clean fresh OE lifters.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Started getting the rear brakes dismantled and repaired.
Looking pretty nasty right now.
Almost got all the pieces off.
Everything taken off.
These look nasty, apple cider vinegar to the rescue! I let them soak for a couple of days and...
They look 100 times better.
Spray painted them so they don't do that crap again. Trying to decide if I should also do the drums are not. I'll probably end up doing it, just need masking tape.
Also bought my coilovers! At least the first part of the build. I got him down to $189.Current cars:
