Why isn't the B8 swap more popular?

well sort of the cat of the festy has a sprung ball joint and the protege has a regular flange so i recomend the protege flange with a piece of pipe welded in there.

oooo thats not bad at all.... and the passenger side mount is just re-drill the holes on the stock b8 mount to meet up with the b3 mount? and it plugs right in? thats SO easy... i think im just gonna grab a b8 out of the junk yard for my winter car....

I don't have a pickup nor access to one (without renting one); do you guys think a B8 could fit in the back of my WRX wagon?

Christ, i just got the Festiva back on the road, now I'm seriously considering taking it back off to do the motor swap, sooner rather than later. :lol:

You can rent an engine hoist and what kind of fancy tools would you need?

No lift or tools needed. Do your kids or neighbors kids have a swingset? That's your lift! And tools all you need are a 10,12,14,17,27mm sockets and wrenches and the occasional bh (big hammer) and it's pretty simple. especially if you leave the festiva trans. I only had to redrill one motor mount hole and that's pretty much it. The exhaust you could have done at a muffler shop for $20/$30. You will have to grind a little off the oil pan tho.

Get the fms one or the spec stage 1 and no worries. I've heard the fms is the way to go but you have to have your flywheel reworked
