Why isn't the B8 swap more popular?

AC comp is the festy one.

Cooling I went to an auto radiator because it is way thicker and even with the ac on here in florida it will not get hot

Clutch options are

I used a stock replacement clutch on mine, beat the holy crap out of it and still managed to get almost a years worth of driving out of it. I used a kia sephia full single core radiator and it worked flawlessly..

You need more than 10,12,14,17,27mm sockets to complete this swap. If it were me i would get a engine hoist also. That way if you have fitment problems it makes it that much easier. I've pulled MANY engines in my life and wouldn't do without it.

festivawes - is the sephia radiator a bolt in or did you have to fab mounts? what year sephia?

Who makes spec clutches? I don't live far from ACT. Could i just bring them an old clutch and say, make a beefier one please? Or are there shops out there already familiar with a beefier festiva clutch?


Wow, just looked at clutchnet's options and they have 4 different clutches available for the Festiva! priced from $75-111. Their Street organic clutch is 10 to 15% performance improvement from stock.

According to that website (and the manufacturer's), the Beck Arnley clutch has a 7 1/2" disk.

While a number of companies, such as ClutchNet, Centerforce, Clutchmasters and ACT offer Swift applications, we only found clutchnet.com to offer upgraded Festiva clutch units. ClutchNet, in South El Monte, Calif., suggested we use its Kush-Loc organic face disc with a double-diaphram pressure plate with 100 percent more torque capacity than stock. Given the small disc circumference, ClutchNet had to use a solid, rather than sprung hub, but uses a Marcel to damp the shock of engagement. ClutchNet estimates this setup to be good for up to 200 hp. A four-puck disc, while much less streetable, would be good for 300 hp.

I have a spec clutch stage 2, but i will be using it on a BP engine instead. The kia sephia radiator take alot of work to fit. The inlet/outlets are the same, but the overall size is what takes the modifing.

A stock auto tranny should have no problems at all with a b8 right?

it's been reported that the stock trans is good to 150 lb/ft of engine torque, but i've also seen them survive much worse.
