I'm at an Envirothon competition and my car is only about 50 miles away from the place of competition on my farm...
We almost drove by the road to my farm and I was thinking to my self WHY???
At least I am missing school!!

I also have a couple of large trucks, myself. I use them for trucks. Things that my Festiva can't or shouldn't have to handle, that's what the trucks are for.

1989 F250 Diesel, soon to be 4 speed manual with a 10FT ICC work body on it.

197x F150 4x4 360 3speed, may end up with a turbo 7.3 Int. in it as well, since I have a spare diesel and have never been much of a fan of gas engines.
I completely agree, but most of the time even my ranger can handle everything I need. It's pushing it sometimes but it can do it. I only get big blue out (85 Chevy C30 Crew Cab) when I need to haul a car of big load of scrap, also helps when you have to haul off a few hundred tires (luckily we don't have to do it very much now). But that is the light truck, we have a gmc wrecker that weighs close to 14,xxxlbs with a 305 in it, the crew cab atleast has a worn out 350.

I am actually eyeballing an older IDI diesel right now, it is a 250 but I really want a dually. I might get the 250 anyways then convert if I really want it later. And the 70s F-Series are my favorite body style. Dad had a 78 when I was about 8 it was a Reg Cab long bed dark brown with a 460 in it, talk about a fun truck. It would spin tires til you ran out of road or gas(which is the most likely). But a 78-79 is on my list of future projects, 460 is a must but I really want to put a 3-on-the-tree behind it (To be unique and for theft provention, and if I flip the shift collar I can have the old lady beside me with no problems)

        • Finished putting the rebuilt head back on Babystiva she seems to be running good but some evil squirrels ate the wires going to one of the marker lamps which in turn blew the tail lights/dash light fuse. So I gotta fix that. Also threw in a spare EFI cam and hla rockers that I had sitting around already cleaned up nice and shiny. Looks great with festevil
s old wheels and tires but then again kinda figured that already since they went from one 88 red car to another not much of a change there! Hopefully little sis will be happy when she gets her back tomorrow.

              • Replaced the false-manual shift knob with one from an S10. Looks like a rally shifter now, about mid height on the steering wheel. Didn't grab a pic while I was in it, but I will tomorrow.

Oddly, the new shift lever screwed right onto the auto-lever that was already in there. It's comfortable enough that I might keep something that tall when I install the manual trans. I don't have to move in my seat to get to it comfortably, and I can rest my hand on it while I'm driving.

Also cleaned out the cowl area by removing the access panel and the wiper motor panel and jamming a shop vac hose everywhere I could get it. Could have done a little better if I'd taken more time, but it's good for now. It's annoying that you can't take the cowl off the car without drilling welds. :/

                • I painted my wiper arms and put new window wipers on. Its generally the first thing I do cause Its so easy and you stare at them for hours on end driving the car, they're always rusted or faded.

Tomorrow, some real non silly maintenance.

                              • Drove it out to gauge_half_inch's place for a minimeet with 91mcnasty at pickapart. Helped them pull the trans from a Capri xr2. I scored the b6t throttle body. The engine is still there with a nice looking hole in the side of the oil pan . Head, manifolds, turbo are all probably all still useable.
