  • Finished up my exhaust, now tolerable to drive without going deaf. :p

Also been fighting with insurance companies. Dropped progressive since they were gouging me over 1 speeding violation (I should have just stayed with them). In this venture I found out, always tell the insurance companies everything, because they will find out regardless, after signing on to State Farm, they gave me a good rate, and I was happy, a week later they sent me a notice in the mail that they increased my rates because of the speeding violation I didn't tell them about. Then a half week after that, they sent me a notice for each of my cars that they were cancelling my policy because of the Speeding violation, and because they didn't like that I had some delinquency on my credit report. (Insurance companies are %@#$ing crooks, and thieves, and will use the littlest friggin' excuse to price gouge you.)

So currently going through a bunch of Insurance companies, and seeing which ones give me the best rates. Honestly don't care if they are good or not, as long as they are cheap, because I only need liability. my Festiva isn't worth appraising, and getting any kinda coverage yet. lol

      • They are your corporate masters and mistresses and you WILL be warking on greasy cars and killing fort them until the end of time. They saved you from YOUR government when they bought it off . and so they are very ENTITLED to write their own ticket on your rates and whatever credit report world they can inflict on you without representation. Besides, paying Highwaymen Insurance insures we will all most likely drive the LARGEST car we need at any time, and that sells gasoline, because never forget, Man Made Global Warming is NOT what keeps them in their own illusion of power, while they otherwise send us all to hell.

        • Got a lot done this weekend! I installed new 4" AudioPipes in the front speaker locations. The tweeter post in the middle hits the stock speaker grill a little but everything snaps into place. I found a matching Passenger Protege seat and got it for half off so I only paid $20 for the seat, an extra Escort dome light and some Plug Wires.

I installed an Escort Dome Light, pretty simple install with the guidance of the Forum. I had the wires backwards at first and had to flip them but everything works properly now.

I sprayed my clutch pedal with some cheap bed liner. It is not as gritty as I was hoping for but it is better than slippery metal.

In the process of trying to fix my Speedometer problem I went ahead and painted my Gauge arms white. I found that my Speedo clutch mechanism is kinda loose inside and if the the speedo cable puts to much pressure on it then it won't spin correctly. I have and extra one that I could replace it with but it has a few more miles on it. I think that if I just pull the cable out as far that it might work. I'm really tired of pulling my Cluster apart though! Oh and I also Wet Sanded the clear plastic and then put some Polishing compound and then some turtle wax. It is so clear now.

              • Hot damn! Another Wolfoid!

Today I went and pulled a car (chassis) I bought last weekend out of the weeds, and would have dragged it home except the guy I was counting on who had a truck and trailer decided to go four wheeling at the last minute and left me only partially mission capable...

For future reference - if you use a strap to lift up a Festiva with a tractor bucket you WILL put some bends in the door frame, but they were minor in this case and under the circumstances we risked it. This is a carb'd car that has no engine or transaxle in it that I wanted to strip all the way pretty much like AdvancedDynamix does with his.

The dents over the doors are minor compared to all the leaves and trash inside it, but it came with a whole pile of extra parts and set me back a mere $100

                * I also found two cases of beer stashed in the weeds next to it

                • Picked up a Festiva, 1998 WF 1.3, 5 speed, ( with defect sticker for seat belts and tyres )
                  No Pwr/Strg.
                  $100.00 + tow truck $45.00
Runs perfectly, started instantly, oil good, red coolant OK, no leaks.
                  CD stacker /radio/cassette/remote.
Not sure what to do with it, donor car for spare parts..not sure yet.

I know to fix seat belts according to legals here, be around $200.00 each, certified.
Tyres as expected, is a variable cost.
                  Leaky rear exhaust noise.
                  Needs battery.

Will scrub up well, no dents.

                  • Seems like a pretty good deal. The seat belts are still available through KIA if I remember correctly.

~ I took my '94 out back and experimented with drifting for a while... :blob: *I bet my neighbors think it's a crop circle

I'm definitely going to do a video of this - but I wanna get rid of the burn pile in the center of the yard just for GP

                            • found a used set of Cibie driving lites for a reasonable price on Ebay. i didn't like the amber fogs that came with the car. not much fog around here anyway and i won't be that idiot driving around with fogs on ALL the time. with the other clear lens upgrades i thought there was a little too much "clarity" going on so i came up with an idea to "globe" the signal housings and ad a little contrast.

i was surprised to find the fog/driving lamps will work without headlamps turned on. maybe it's a japanese thing. i plan to switch to 100W H2 bulbs over the legal 55W bulbs but will have to upsize the wiring & relay. then i can be the idiot that blinds everybody.

tried to use the stone guards. fitment is very tight and hard to pop off quickly in the event of sudden fog attack. looks too 80s anyway.
