        • I can see in the last 2 pics where the tightness was coming from. You can see where the rings were parked in the cylinders and some light rust formed while it was stored. It also looks like the cylinder walls are very shiny (note the reflections in a couple of the pics and the absence of defined cross-hatching) which tells me there's some miles on them. Luckily both issues can be fixed with a hone to remove the surface rust and break the glaze...no biggy

I'll be able to get a better idea when I see it in person :thumbright:

            • Went to the junkyard. I was hoping the new Festiva there was red.. it was white. Wrecked and declared totaled by insurance, too. Wasn't bad- just grille and hood pretty much. I got the passenger headlight, drivers corner light and driver's turn signal.
Finished reshaping crossmeber. Had to do a lot of beating and prying but the headlights fit and are aimed decently. Little adjustment and they'll be perfect. Put my old bumper back on for today so I could put the turn signals on and drive my car for work. Replaced seat belt with one I had in stock.

I got a lot of points driving around with no bumper cover, grille, or hood.
Going to a nearby yard to take the bumper and hood latch from the Festiva I got my engine from. Unfortunately every single light, piece of glass, and body panel on that car had been broken or hit or I could've sourced my parts there...

              • tried to get most of the car the same color today, unforutnately it rained all day. Hopefully i will get the ambition to do it tommorow (Have a lot of homework i need to do) and saturday i have a big auction to go to and sunday is easter.

Maybe before summer i will have the hood, door, roof, and replacement fender painted, and the other areas touched up. Then the fun part of doing all the custom designs.

$0.96 spray paint for the win!

                • Installed new Escort master cylinder this morning. Now I think I need new front breaks. Pedel feels good , but not as responsive as I think it should be, thought I heard a little scrapin' from the right front break. May need to bleed system at the wheels.
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

Definitely want to bleed the system at the wheels. Any little bit of air and you've got Spongebob Squarepedal. What? It's early!

                    • Got a factory '96 Jeep Wrangler Class I hitch for free from one of the guys at NAPA lol. He had just bought the Jeep last night and was planning to put a 2" receiver on it, so when I started asking about 1 1/4" receivers and they didn't have any listed he said "Just go take the one off the back of my Jeep". So I did lol, got me a free hitch, and saved him the trouble of removing it later Now I gotta figure out how to attach it lol should be fun! Picking up my festiva trailer (to be towed BY a festiva) in a little bit so the timing couldn't have been better! Its been a good day so far, and not even noon yet!
                      No festiva for me ATM...

                        • All in good time sir! Lol I'll be bringing it home on the car hauler behind the van since the 15" tires that are on it are toast. Its a 4'x7.5' and from the CL pic looks pretty sturdy (has 2000# axle). Likely it will be used behind the festiva for moving the mower back and forth between my place and dads, and for keeping my interior clean(er) when hauling motors/trans and other parts around and the occasion trip hauling trash to the dump. But I like the fact that its beefy enough to carry heavier things behind the van if I need to, without having to hitch up the car hauler. Here's the CL pic:
