If you need the room in the boot, you could just take out the rear seat and save 35 pounds or so.
That's a nice Smurf blue and I'd think twice or thrice before painting it white. Maybe just add some white trim or logos or something?

I don't know. Haven't heard of the key code being in the manual but that doesn't mean it isn't. Call a locksmith and ask if they can cut a key with either the number you found or from the lock cylinder number.youtube.com/neanderpaul 88 festiva LX w/BP G25 MR 5 speed waiting for wiring- 93 Festiva GL auto w/ air, waiting for B6t/G4A-HL - 98 Nissan Quest - 02 Mazda protege 5 wife's DD

Locksmith says that the if they cut one from a door lock it may not fit the ignition because the igniton has more pins or wafers?
Might just be worth getting a new set of locks, then no old owners will have a key to fit it getting a key cut from the ignition lock is going to cost $50

I would bet the key cut to fit the door will work the ignition. But your idea of a complete lock set from a donor yard car will certainly work.youtube.com/neanderpaul 88 festiva LX w/BP G25 MR 5 speed waiting for wiring- 93 Festiva GL auto w/ air, waiting for B6t/G4A-HL - 98 Nissan Quest - 02 Mazda protege 5 wife's DD

Best way to remove the ignition lock? Drop the column and vice grip the pins as i cant see a way to remove just the barrel?
Had a play with the gear linkage bushes today, i dont think it would be overly hard to make my own bushes for it, the hardest being the pin that looks like its pressed in as that has alot of play, might have to cut it out and put a bolt in its place.
Feel free to point me in the right direction, you guys have more experience with these cars that i do.

Were in NSW are you ? Could just get a wreckers festy and pull the barrel out if its got keys with it ? if not and i pick up another festy i could shoot the barrel , keys and door locks down or up ? but that wont be untill i sell my xbox and find a job HAHA. (SOON)

I'm on the Central Coast, yeah wreckers is an option but they are rip offs around here, might use find-a-part and see who is cheapest.
Havent played on it for afew days, been busy with work which is good because i'm self employed so i know all about money issues.

Woodsy...are you talking the Festy and not an Aspire when asking about the ignition cylinder? If so...remove the plastic and you will see two , what look like screw heads , without slots in them. Use a hacksaw blade or roto zip or anything you can think of , to cut a slot in them and then use a screw driver to turn them out. Once done it is all unplugging from there. Pretty easy....Brian did it on a parts car of mine in about 15 minutes."FLTG4LIFE" @FINALLEVEL , "PBH"
