You wouldn't even have to order them to do that. Just buy a few feet of 1.75“ 1/8" wall 4130 tubing from your local metal place and have your local machine shop part it off in a lathe at the sizes you want. It's a 1 operation part, shouldn't cost more than 5 bucks a part if you make 20 or so. Most shops have a minimum charge for setup, so you'll spend at least 100 bucks, or maybe a 6 pack if the guys can do "government jobs" on the side.

I ordered just over 50 of them and the total was less than $100.00 including shipping.

With the right set up (bar fed, high speed etc. ect.) These could be made for 50 cents a spacer including profit. I don't see much volume in it though.
BTW, the size I see most commonly used by the factory is 12 or around a 12. I just pulled 4 sets of knuckles apart and they all had 12 shims in them and they were from 3 different kinds of cars (Capri xr2, Aspire, Festiva).
They are all within .0005“ too, which is cool since they came from different cars, different years and different brands. They are all from the same source, I'd put money on it.Last edited by Advancedynamix; 12-15-2016, 11:08 AM.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. ^ This, all of this... Found the tube on the spare metal rack, surface ground them to various sizes etc. And I also have a bunch of number 12's. I like to to set mine up on the higher end of the torque range. IDK if its my torque wrench, but when I set them up on the low side. I was only getting 10K from the bearings. Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

Just so people on the forum know, I have been discussing doing a bunch of these and selling them for a hopefully reasonable price, but the discussion has been on Facebook. I have 8 cores now and hope to have at least four more before I start rebuilding.Contact me for information about Festiva Madness!

I'm guessing that the size and thread of the bolt should be very close to if not exactly the same as the nut and bolt on the end of the drive axle, and I am saying that because the axle nut torque is stated as 116-174 lbs/ft for both Festiva AND Capri (NOTE: THE SAME TOOL is used for both, I have verified it)

It will use a chunk of 4x4 with eye bolts or something to suspend a knuckle beneath it, with a hole bored in it to drive a wooden dowel or some kind of punch through.
I'm still thinking over the simplest and best way to do it without mangling anything or having to pend more money than the average Joe would want to.
Done right - I plan to come up with something simple, easy, and that you could build out of scrap even if you broke down in La Paz or somewhereContact me for information about Festiva Madness!

This one I'm rebuilding is turning at about seven inch pounds smoothly. I see now why Charlie has to replace them all the time and I don't blame him a bit for shooting at five inch pounds. If I'm racing I'll do the same, but for a daily driver, I'm gonna say this is in spec and let it roll.
