Ive said it before and Ill say it again because this comes up fairly often. The 91 - 96 Escort relay WILL work. Theres just a little tab that you have to break off the relay in order for it to fit properly.

Good to know, so when I'm in the JY where is the headlight relay located on the 91-96 Escort?

I believe its in a very similar location. I cheated and just bought one at Autozone.

I agree, when you need one now just hitup the Mcparts stores.
But, if I'm in a JY I need to collect these, just like the fuse cartridges, which I have sent out and given away more than a few sets.

I assume you've found the relay?

I just fixed the headlights on one of mine. Same exact symptoms as you. You could hear the relay click, no high beam indicator on the cluster. The problem was corrsion inside a white(?) hardshell connector on the headlight wire. I THINK that wire was red/white tracer. It's located real close the the headlight relay. I tried cleaning the pins, that didn't work so I just jumped around the plug.

Sometime during the swap of headlights and the install of my tach cluster, I've lost my headlights...

Funny you should mention this. On my trip home, I lost headlights while going down the highwway. I just barely touched the switch, rotating it forward, and they came back. No further problems. Interesting.

Looks like I'll end up buying the Escort relay, since none of the stores seem to have anything that'll "fit" the Festiva.

What tab are you talking about? Or.... When I see the thing, will I realize what it is?
