strange grinding and oil leak

    Rear mains tend to not leak when running because it is slinging oil in the case. After you turn it off it will start dripping out under the crack. Use a piece of cardboard on the ground.

      But on a quick side note, when my diff pin put a hole in my bell housing, after the tranny fluid mixed with the clutch dust in the bell housing, it came out looking like old motor oil, so i initially thought my rear main seal went...... just my 2 cents
      thats possible. this stuff is pretty black. and there is a small leak in the endcap of my tranny and its coming out clear red.
