Thank you for your response FestYboy. Other than missing the hole for that sensor, and being set up for tranny lines, it looks to be a match. So, would you be of the opinion that I should send it back, and tell them to try again?

Okay, I have learned through the great search feature, more about what is apparently, a common problem when buying radiators for 89 Festys.

I intend to replace the O2 sensor. But I feel pretty confident that the dying was being caused by the very throttle shafts. I can wiggle it enough to make it die myself.
I looked at sending the radiator back, but, I waited to long to discover it doesn't have the threaded hole for the radiator temp sensor. So, I am considering drill and tap. I am going to try it on the old radiator first, to see how well the hard plastic takes thread. It that goes well, and I feel there is enough material there to hold it under pressure, I will probably try it on the new one.

unknown, that temp swith is just an input to the ECU, it does nothing except turn off the IAC. the iac doesn't become active once the coolent temp comes up.
BUT you don't HAVE an IAC... you're a carb car and that being said, that sensor DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. the fact that the rad has trans lines doesn't affect you either. you have an AUTO rad and that's all they make anymore because that's the way it should have been from the begining. put the rad in and enjoy your festy.Last edited by FestYboy; 02-07-2012, 07:09 PM.Trees aren't kind to me...

If you continue to have issues and can tell me what part of western nc you live in, I may be able to help you sort it out. I own several carb cars, manuals and have a lot of experience with them. Festyboy can vouch for me too, lol.Last edited by kartracer46; 02-09-2012, 09:06 PM.91 Festiva GL "Scrat"

I don't know if anyone else has noticed or commented on this, but there certainly are some people on here that show some seriously positive character traits. Just sayin'.
