I have received my carb in the mail. Looks like its time to jump under the hood, and mix the spaghetti. Kartracer, you may be becoming my new best friend by this evening. lol.

I don't think I do Movin (thank you), but I may be wrong. I have my Haynes manual now. There is also a pretty good diagram under the hood. I actually should take a pic of that one and post it just for information.

I went pretty heavy on the masking tape labels for each hose as I was pulling the old carb. I am pretty confident all the hoses on the left of the carb will be in there correct locations. I did notice there was a plugged hose, coming from underneath the intake manifold to the back of the carb, that I will need to trace and attach. I also know that some of the lines running from that row of sensors on the firewall, to the breather on the right side, will need to be relocated. I saw where you and kartracer had posted a diagram and some instructions on that side of the carb. That will be most helpful, once I get my gaskets and have the thing mounted. The only area I have to figure out now, is the routing from the back of the carb. That cluster of vacuum ports on the back. I think I have all the rest mapped out.

And I discovered something when I pulled the old carb. The diaphragm I thought was shot, I think its involved with the fast idle (I'll post a pic) is actually good. I couldn't see it while it was mounted, but it looks like there is a hole in the side where a vacuum port was. I couldn't see it with it attached. I may have to "engineer" a tube for it.

You know, I don't have it bolted on yet. Maybe I should take some pics of the carb to post. Maybe it could help someone.

Is this part missing a nipple for a hose?

Okay. I found that the inside diameter of a brass ink pen is roughly the same as the inside diameter of the top nipple. So, cut pen length. Flushed with carb cleaner. Added Gorilla tape to outside to make it fit a vacuum hose. Left about 1/4 inch hanging out from the tape. Tape also keeping brass shaft from going in too far. Roughed with sandpaper. gently cleaned and reamed hole with hand held drill bit. Mixed up some JB Weld. Applied, and inserted.

                            Next....

Okay, I have the carb installed. Everything seems good. No check engine light. Drove it for about 30 minutes, and no overheating. Idle is very steady at stop signs.

Now a question. The pic I posted. Is that the part referred to as FICB? This part is the only one I had to guess as as far as vacuum lines. I took a line from the bottom of the orange solenoid, to the side port of the part in the pic. And from the top port on that part, to a vacuum port on the back of the carb. Is this correct?
