Can you post some pics of the routing you currently have and I will try to see what may or may not be wrong. They are hard to get good pics of so just take your time and try to get as much in a pic as you can.

I would send you the routing, but sometimes the schematics are difficult for some to read and understand simply because you have to understand what all 13 components of the feedback system are and what they do. But I will try to look and explain some of it to you.

get a photobucket account, it's free, and take as high a resolution a pic as you can. That will help Kartracer trace your lines.
Don't just post then at max resolution here, or I will be forced to delete them.
But post them here as links. That way Kart gets the high rez he needs, the help you need, and we stay within the rules we have here for pic sizing.
You got some of the best people here helping you.
As has already been stated in another form.

It is possible the needle and seat are leaking. There should be a little glass window
on your carb, can you see the fuel level in it or is it flooded? Too much fuel will
blow by and dilute your oil causing oil to purge to the air filter area. Too much fuel
will cause hard starts and poor power.

Nitro suggests checking your timing belt marks and you should.
Ignition timing , hose routing have been suggested, and are easy checks.
Make sure the inside of the cap is dry, no cracks.
Make sure your EGR valve is not stuck open, after starting your engine
cold and running it a bit then checking the temp, it should be cool like
the surrounding metal, not getting hot.

You can see if your cat is plugged by unbolting the connector upstream
from it and test driving for the return of power. Tie things down for safety.

If that oil blowby plugged your air filter it will lose power..
It sure sounds like it is flooding fuel, running rich!

One at a time, check things off, the problem will be found!!

http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...ack+carburetor Here's the thread with the carb pics. Probably doesn't show air cleaner connections but there's only a few and help is available. Good luck.

Car seems to "run" better. Should I start another tread with my other problems or keep posting here?

Drove 144 miles today and used about 9 gallons of fuel!!! When I have been doing about 6-7 gallons. And I once was getting about 35-40
MPG. Recently getting about 24 MPG. Today Bad!!!! Im trying to keep my cool with this car.

Driving a semi-repaired car 144 miles is not wise. Nurturing a neglected car back to health is rewarding but the way you are doing it is frustrating and possibly dangerous.

Didn't find any window on Carb. Is it on the back or underneath it?

Most have a little glass window screwed to the side of the float bowl on the carb.
There is an indicator in the window to gauge correct fuel level.
The festy kind of buries it
some re-builders have replaced the window with a metal plate screwed on the
                            same way.
In the carb pic thread mentioned earlier there is not a good pic of the window.

I guess if it can make a 144-mile trip without blowing up it ain't too bad. Post any developments.

Get these guys some good pics of your vacuum line routing Buck. They are willing to help.
Stay positive, you are trying to troubleshoot a very very very unusual Carburetor. It was only used one year (thankfully) on our cars. Carbs are a very very very simple device. Some engineer had the task of Rat F'ing a Carburetor. And your 88 "Feedback" carburetor (the technical name) is what he came up with.
I can already imagine people are going to tell you. That you need to put a Weber Carb on your car. But I'm afraid given your experience, that would be unwise. I have a "Feedback Carb" you can have for the shipping cost. But you need to show me & the others. You can at least check the float level.. I think Movin is correct its sounds like your Needle/seat/float are not doing their job.
Once again remain patient. Now I understand your wifes frustrations. You just so happened to purchase the only year of Festy's that have this stupid carb.
Hang in there Son,this is life. It only gets more complicated when you have children. But then end results can be awesome! Sending you lots of good Karma Buck......
