who really cares if u use commas or not i mean really is it writing 101 or is this site here to help out people who drive the same car as you do.and it seems to go off subject alot all i'm trying to do is get my festiva to run correctly only reason i'm even thinking about the weber is because i know i can make an adapter and get it bolted up but can not get a straight answer to if i go with the weber can i get rid off all the vacuum lines and emission stuff? and thinking of the weber because since i got the car i joined this forum for help with the vacuum lines and still have not gotten any one to help get them hookup correctly and i started looking in feb. so kindly makes you wonder does anyone on here know how they go?i have bought two books for this car and neither one really helps.i have the diagram under the hood but it really is no help to me if someone would make a video or take sum good pics of the vacuum lines then i might get it right with the oem carb.thanks a bunch to everyone for their help
Bluoval: learn to use more commas. Maybe you and Windy could get together....

I know this is an old thread, but I just bought an 89. I had to remove cylinder head (blown head gasket) had it shaved, checked for cracks and cleaned up. Installed new clutch, and I have it back up and running but the previous owner has vacuum lines plugged everywhere, no line to dist vac advance and the car hesitates when I hit the gas, gotta feather it up from idle. Right now I have timing set at 3 deg BTDC to get some semblance of idle and throttle response from idle.
This is a stock carb and the original air filter housing and heat riser equipment is all gone. What vacuum lines do I NEED??
PLEASE someone help me with a diagram, you can email me direct. phisheenguy@yahoo.com
The bottom line on the dist. goes directly to the manifold, and the top one goes to a T that splits the lines between a vacuum heat valve and the EGR if I'm not mistaken, I cant find the diagram...
If you cant set the lines correctly, then you may set the timing at ~12 degrees, with this the hesitation goes away. Sometimes the reason why people plugged the dist lines is because the vacuum advance goes bad and leaks. I havent been able to find new spare for it, just the whole reman. dist.
WHERE DOES THE TOP VAC LINE GO TO WITH WEBER CARB SETUP, AND I AM DOING AWAY WITH ANIT-BACKFIRE VALVE SO WHERE DOES BOTTOM VAC LINE GO?
Hook both of the distributor lines together and feed them to the vacuum port on the Weber by the choke. I think they run best with the timing set at about 12* BTDC.
Here you go. That's the original Festy throttle linkage on the Weber. Make damn sure you don't end up with air leaks! They are a killer. ,IMG]http://i58.tinypic.com/28arz88.jpg[/IMG],
JUST GOT DONE WITH THE COMPLETE WEBER SWAP AND INSTALLED THE FMS STAGE 2 CAM USED THE THROTTLE LINKAGE THAT IS ON THE WEBER AND DONE AWAY WITH ALL THE EMISSIONS CRAP
