You need a red hockey stripe to go with that now. Never seen one for a 121.

Probably an oil change. lol I don't intend on putting ANY money into the 121 as it serves its purpose of traveling 100kms a day just fine

nAH .. LANCER is staying. GF sold her Hyundai Excel instead.

Bad news about the 121 today ---- the clutch has started slipping ..... I know it'll be my fault. Started slipping last night after some enthusiastic driving.

Am gonna have go it DIY after reading some some threads on this forum --- just have to find a clutch kit for the right price. Hopefully i can get away with machining the flywheel.

If it just started slipping Id say the flywheel is fine.

FRom what ive read, it's just as easy to take the gearbox out with the car on stands instead of removing the engine all together?

Yeah, you will need an engine support bar. Two of the three motor mounts are on the transaxle. I guess you've adjusted the clutch cable out as far as it goes ?

Nah .. yet to adjust clutch cable ... will be giving that a stab tonight . Bye adjusting clutch cable out as far as it goes ---- u mean loosening it right? Making it tighter will only make the clutch slip more ?

                    • I think thats correct but I get confused unless Im looking at it. I think you spin the nut out towards the end of the adjusting rod.

                          • Hmmmmm ... well i adjusted clutch cable by loosening it. Seemed to help a bit --- but i don't stand a change getting up a hill at any kind of speed.

Looks like i'll have to keep catching the train until i can manage to buy a clutch and attempt a DIY. Fingers crossed cos i'll have no idea what im doing. Have read a few threads on this forum which have been a help --- Mainly this one : http://www.fordfestiva.com/forum/vie...ghlight=clutch

Cos im bit of a photonut, here's a couple of pics from bit of a photoshoot the other night
