i hate to disagree on the handling point there, but the only reason the civic has an advantage is the aftermarket support to fix all of it's shortcommings. when i raced SCCA, i was only 2 sec behind a civic hatch with a veteran driver and 30 more horses. really, our cars handle very well from the factory, just add better wheels/tires and some spring rate all around.Trees aren't kind to me...

Rx-7's??Originally posted by 4PistonFuryEveryone say that the Miata is girls car. Then I say that this girls car could demolish any other stock car under 30k on a road corse.
Mini's new or old?
Besides those you mean. Oh and the part about demolishing shouldn't be said as most of the cars awesome handling and general cornering ability is DRIVER ability.
It's a good thing you don't read the stickies, you might of learned something.

the festiva uses an i-beam the crx uses independent suspension, the festiva uses drums in the rear the crx uses discs, I could go on all night.Originally posted by FestYboyi hate to disagree on the handling point there, but the only reason the civic has an advantage is the aftermarket support to fix all of it's shortcommings. when i raced SCCA, i was only 2 sec behind a civic hatch with a veteran driver and 30 more horses. really, our cars handle very well from the factory, just add better wheels/tires and some spring rate all around.

brakes and suspention components have nothing to do with how the car handles, BUT they do tend to push the handling charecteristics to one side or the other of nutral. theres not much of an advantage to having an independant rear, infact, it tends to make a car understeer MORE than the same car with a solid beam.Trees aren't kind to me...

Sp33dY, brakes don't have ANYTHING to do with handling, granted they have alot to do with slowing you down and how the driver can control the vehical speed. But the suspention and tire setup and combo have EVERYTHING to do with how well the brakes can do thier job (drivers sensation of "handling").Trees aren't kind to me...
