The Mazda RX-7 cruise control on/off dash switch has the following four wire colors:
    Black Tan
    Brown/Black stripe Red/Green stripe

The only continuity I detected is between the black ground wire and the tan wire, when the switch is activated. I must test further. I am unsure if this is an illuminated switch or not. I am only guessing, but I believe when you set speed on the stalk, power goes back to the switch through the red/green wire for illumination.

Here is a link to the Rostra cruise kits.

Finally, after three offers, they settled on $11 for the cruise control adjuster.
I know it's for an F-150 pickup, but I am betting with a longer bolt, I can use it as a support bracket to cradle the Festiva cruise sensor where it screws onto the speedometer gear. I will let everyone know if it works once I receive it and see if it fits.

Please ignore all of my previous references to the 88 RX-7 cruise wiring diagrams.
The correct cruise electrical schematic needed is for an 84-85 second generation Mazda RX-7.

The ones of critical interest to me are the cruise control main switch and the combination switch (resume, set, coast) wiring.

At least I now know the correct wire colors, where the wires go. I can test for the proper terminal connection.

            Piece of cake.

BY is "set" BrW is "resume"

BL is "coast" B is "ground"

Just have to hook it up like in this picture of the white cruise connector in the top center of the back of the combo switch. You can even see the BL wire sticking out.

For the Ford actuator, W is "power", Y is "vent" and Br is "vacuum"

Does anyone know why the Mazda actuator valve has two vent valves?
Could it be for cruising at a lower speeds?
Or, to maintain more precise control of actual cruising speed?

Looking at the back of the combo switch, with the cruise connector tab facing right.
I tested for the beep and the male terminals are arranged this way:

              GROUND RESUME

              COAST SET

I could not find any technical info on the Mazda double vent actuator. I did get the name of someone who does know.

I was correct in the fact that the Mazda cruise control main switch is lighted.
Power goes through the main switch to both the computer and actuator solenoid valve.
The light just serves as a reminder to shut the switch off.

I need confirmation. Does the RESUME wire go to pin 1, SET wire go to pin2, and COAST wire go to pin 4 of the Ford computer?
Here is the Ford cruise wiring diagram again.

Also, please confirm if the power wire from the Mazda cruise control main switch goes to pin 7 of the Ford computer, or to pin 5, or both? I presume the Ford Cruise Command Module was designed to remain on continuously while the ignition wire is hot.

It appears I do not need to put a splice in the power wire, because power flows out of Ford computer pin 8, out to the actuator in the engine compartment.

It appears that the single power connector for the Ford Cruise Command Module goes in pin 7 and then power comes out of pin 5 and goes to the combination switch. The Mazda control module has the current flowing to ground in the opposite direction than the Ford computer.
No problem. Just slightly confusing at first. So GROUND is HOT in posts #65 and #66.
Japanese cars like to install their servo cables to pull on the throttle in the engine compartment. Ford wants to mount a bracket and pull on the throttle ball on the acellerator pedal inside the car. This is what makes the world go round. Two companies with different approaches, both arriving at the same destination.
I will be able to marry both the Ford and Mazda parts to make this look completely stock, thanks to my Eastern Beaver electrical connectors from Japan.

I need help wiring the clutch switch. I can see how the brake switch works by providing power to the stop lights and stoplamp supply voltage to the cruise control computer as a signal to cut out. I cannot understand the wiring between the brake switch and the clutch switch. I am assuming that since the signal goes to the same pin on the computer, the clutch switch when depressed allows 12V to flow to the computer exactly the same way the brake switch does. The wiring diagram does not make sense to me. It looks like the clutch switch is just spliced into the brake circuit. Can anyone else interpret this diagram? What am I missing? I can't figure out how either will work properly.

My cruise unit is for an auto and only has the brake circuit. The wires for it just splice into the brake switch wires. Probably doesn't matter which way as two wires are used.

I have just purchased a Festiva cruise kit from NOS Parts Ltd. in Waxahachie,
Texas. It cost me $202.73 + $15 shipping. Michael Haisan was kind enough to
verify that everything is accounted for in this kit and that the instructions say it is
for a Festiva. The part number is E9BZ-9A818-A. This was the only one in
inventory. These parts came online in February. They said that they will soon
receive more NOS parts from warehouses in Tennesee that have no computerized
inventory systems. I will notify fellow members if another becomes available.

                        Q. Would NOS parts be able to provide a list of all your E8BZ-, E9BZ-, F0BZ- parts along with part descriptions?
                        A. Not a problem! I’d be happy to get you a list of these parts. It will probably be a few days. The man that can put together this list is out of town. We really appreciate your business! I’d be glad to assist you and your members with anything else in the future. Have a wonderful day.

                        Thank you,
                        Michael Haisan

I will photograph and document both the contents as well as the installation of
this kit. Especially the length of the actuator cable and shape of the bracket used
to support this cable for pulling on the accelerator cable from above the gas pedal.

Other members may purchase other Ford cruise kits that have similar parts, but the bracket for the gas pedal would have to be fabricated.

There was no buyer for an Aerostar cruise kit on eBay.

                          That's awesome!
I wonder if I can pick up parts directly. They're about 15 minutes away from me.

You probably can. But, you better hurry. They are only open from 8-5 and I already have them searching for some more rare goodies that I am after. By the time you get there it will be too late. (just kidding). I was searching three years for that cruise kit, but for the wrong prefix! F0BZ instead of E9BZ. I don't know how they find stuff in there.

I don't actually have any part numbers to search with.
I guess I should locate numbers for things like the under seat tray, mudflaps, decal/stripe kits, etc.
Was the "Sport" package factory or dealer installed?

I already checked for the mudflaps. They only have fronts (E8BZ-16A550-A), not rears (E8BZ-16A550-B). I believe packrat did get the last remaining set in the U.S., the same way I got the last remaining cruise in the U.S. Packrat hasn't been here for a while. Anyone know what happened to him? Just order Pride flaps for now.

I'm picking up the ultrafiche tomorrow and will post for everyone if I can pdf it. I also checked for spoilers. No luck. I believe the sport package was factory installed.
