I did a 3rd coat of primer at about 3pm today on some areas that looked thin. I am going to try and wet sand it down with some 800 grit tonight and hopefully tomorrow spray one coat of the aluminum paint.
I would recommend the gun I bought, It is pretty easy to use and clean up.

And like I said earlier it does go on sale for $40 ($39.99)

Sprayed the first coat of "aluminum" rustoleum paint on the front bumper and grille. Pretty darn shiny and metallic. The can was pretty settled, I had to stir it for about 10 minutes.
Thinned it at 25% mineral spirits to 75% paint.
This would look really good for someone that wanted to paint there car silver. I think it is really going to add some depth to my rustoleum "candy" paint job.

My friend painted his Sentra this aluminum color, it's very shiny. He didn't do a very good job, just a quick sand and sprayed two coats.

Thanks Tony! I am getting psyched up about getting this paintjob done so I can see how the finished product is going to look.

I know it's not even done, but I still can't believe that's the same car!

I like it! It is going to be hard as hell for me to bring myself to spray red over this!

Is that aluminum primer?? Or, were you just playing around with that color? Cause I like it. :headbang:

its not primer, I am trying to do a poor mans candy paint job with the metallic base coat and a red top coat.

Doesn't look too bad for rustoleum paint, ehh? You could wetsand and polish this and use it as a mirrior.

I like it.I would leave it that color. If you end up not liking it,you could always put red over it down the road.

The Aluminum on its own shows too much of my amateur body work job. It really highlights every defect.

So while I was out in the garage wet sanding in preparation for the next 2 coats of aluminum I fell in love with the color. I am keeping it.
