  • Got it right this time fits perfect now!!

I also brought some other parts into work that needed a bit of work, since i had to cut around the rad support for clearance for the alt. etc. i lost the bolt holes for the trim piece below the headlight and 2 out of 4 mounting holes for the headlight itself

In this pic you can see how i moved the bracket over and re-welded it, and that metal is extremely thin so it burned through very easily

And a self-tapping screw to bolt it in place

For the headlight i welded a little tab on it to make a good point to bolt it to the body and it works pretty good

And everything looks factory again once all the pieces are put back on

Once i got those little detail things taken care of, i pulled the engine back out so i can change out the broken water outlet on the engine

And what a PITA it is to get to, i have to take all the timing belt pulleys off in order to get to the bolts

and the new part ready to go on

i got the new one installed and got most of the pulley's back on but i had to stop so i could pick up my girlfriend from work (she'd be a bit mad if i was late :lol, so i'll finish it up tomorrow

                      • Are you just going to use that to drive in a straight line lol? Not sure how much more heavy the v6 is over the 4 cylinder, but if it's alot more won't it throw the distribution off and screw up the handling? And not knocking your build cause it's def crazy and cool but I would have went with a little bit more reliable engine like a duratec v6. Maybe it's the way the owner took care of there car but every 626 I ever seen or probe has had a knock or some kind of valve problem. Nice build tho keep up the good work.

Compare the ZE to a turbo'd BP, the ZE is all aluminum, the BP has an iron block and if the BP is turbo you have more weight yet from the turbo, the ZE would probably still weigh a bit more but i don't think by that much

                          • Just wanted to say two things:

                            1. This is awesome i cant wait to see it runing on youtube.

                            2. You should dedinately build a dead pulley for the steering pump, with no fluid runing through it, its gonna burn out and the belt wont turn the water pump. Just a suggestion

+1, I believe you can gut the internals so that it just spins.

                              • ^^^ yes, knock it apart, remove the vanes and cam ring (rotor too, if possible), plug up the outlet and return, pop it back together, and fill 3/4 way with ATF
