I really hope you won't have to pull the engine for that! when I read that you'd be replacing it on page 19 that's what I was thinking!!

i pulled the engine to change it the last time so i didn't fight with clearance (not knowing how much clearance i would have either) but i also wanted to change the clutch while i was at it (other reason for pulling the engine)

When i changed the timing belt, i did it with the engine in the car so i'm sure i can change the pump in the car as well (thank god lol)

Yeah don't you have to pull the engine every time you change a water pump in that thing? If that's the case when I do one (SHUTUP IT WILL HAPPEN) I'm instantly doing electric water pump, lol.

^^Very tempting, but since the last time i changed the pump i threw a used one on it, i'll put another stock replacement on it and see what happens, if a new pump goes within the first year, i'll get an electric one for sure

I tried taking off the IAC and it still doesn't clear, I'll be rebuilding the whole intake once i get the intercooler

I finished cleaning up the fuel rails and got installed the 929 injectors (330cc) for the first while since i probably will only run low-ish boost at first (10-15 psi) then later i'll upgrade the turbo etc. since it's just not in the budget right now

comparison pic of before and after

    both rails cleaned up

and injectors installed, they fit like factory so thanks hppwdn for the tip on the 929 retainers

now i just gotta make an injector harness and that part of it is done at last

Just got around to checking back in on this thread. Looks like most of your clearance issues for the TB could be solved by making an IAC block off plate. I have one on mine and have no idle issues at all. Of course, I live in South Florida so cold weather is never an issue.

Not a big update, but a small one, i test fitted the 929 retainers on the KL fuel rail and well

they fit perfectly so my injector setup will work nicely, so today i took the wire wheel to the retainers

Next i'll be taking the wire wheel to the fuel rail to hopefully get them as shiny then i'll be installing the injectors and the fuel rails are ready to go

I also put my intake on the milling machine at work and started cutting it all apart to be able to re-use as much of the aluminum as possible for the second attempt at a custom intake
