I don't wish to 'throw water on the fire' but daily driver status (DD) is obviously going to be out of the question with what you're doing. Or is there a possibility that this thing will still be road-worthy in the ordinary sense?
If I had 2-300 hp at the wheels of a Q-ship Festy for even a day or two I'd probably already be in jail.
Just musing. Your mechanical aptitude and practical ability is inspiring to us mere mortals.

Lol I fully intend to keep my festiva as a road legal daily driver, if it becomes a track-only car, then I will get rid of it

I refuse to have a track-only car/trailer queen etc. If I cant drive it it aint worth having. Half the awesomeness of having a "fast" tin can is being able to drive it to the track, and maybe not whoop the built cars, but even just run close with them, and be able to drive home from the track while the race cars are loaded into trailers.91GL BP/F3A with boost

Made a little bit of progress today, I wired in some non-heated O2 sensors (stock was 4-wire O2's) and now it'll idle on its own with the stock ECU so I can at least move it around under it's own power
Then I made some flanges for the final exhaust work and did some welding, I still need to get a 14" piece of 2-1/2" pipe in order to finish it up though... Once it's done I shouldn't have to worry about pissing off the neighbors lol

So I jacked it up, waayyy up, in prep for some more work
And here we have the material of choice, 1"x2" and 3/16" thick wall
Can anyone guess what I'm up to?
And I thought this was a cool pic showing my engine bay from underneath

I plan to run 2 lengths down the length of the car beside the stock frame rails, they will tie into a complete subframe that will surround the bottom side of the engine bay with multiple attachment points to the frame/rad support/firewall etc. and also i want to add extensions that'll go behind the bumper so i can a tube straight up from the subframe (so they'll come in the engine bay behind the headlights) and tie them into the strut towers
The idea is to strengthen the entire front of the car because if i plan to shove that 540whp setup into my festiva, the chassis NEEDS to be stronger in order to handle that kind of power
