That engine does look good!!
1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor
1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)
If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

the B3 header has a cat flange already attached, whereas the B6 header has no flange and larger tubes. both fit first gen B6s and all B3 heads, but the extra drilling is required to fit to the second gen B6 (the one Tom has in the car). the B3 header will promote low-mid to high mid torque increase, but the B6 header is for top end only (very large runners; low gas velocity at lower RPMs). i do hope it's the B3 header, otherwise it may be prudent to add a reducer to the exhaust before the cat or resonator.Trees aren't kind to me...

Timing Belt Cover Trimming

My timing belt cover has expanded with heat and age so that it is daily being "trimmed" by the water pump pulley. Trimming it, as you have, would save me the expense of finding another one in better condition. But what would be lost?
I'm really enjoy watching the transformation in the appearance of the engine. What you did to the valve cover is nothing short of magic - a real thing of beauty.

I just trim them so I can see the timing belt, and water pump. Some people remove them all together. All of them eventually rub the water pump pulley. It's easy to do and lets you see if the water pump is leaking and easier to replace if needed. Thanks for the compliments. As far as benefits I think it's about the same with or without it, I just like something being there to keep fingers and stuff out.-Greg

I think what Greg did is the best of both approaches; sufficient protection and you can still see in there.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods
