I've shaved the serpentine portion off of a few, but no option of a/c. I just cut thru the rubber with my lathe.

It'll be back on the road soon, just don't know HOW soon. With the space given in my car the motor has to come out for the oil pump to clear the nose of the crank. I'd rather put a motor just to know it's gonna be alright or it's twice the work.
And a FYI. The research that I've done on bp oil pump failure comes from removing the stock "dampened" pulley and putting a solid in it's place. I found on both escort and protege forums where people were running aftermarket underdrive pullies and exploding oil pumps. The average lifespan was 6 months. I put this motor in around march. 7k miles ago.

Wait a minute, back this up just a bit, what do you mean, maybe ZERO soon, don't let a little oil pump problem sideline the fastest Festiva with air from getting back on the road.
