So if you read my other thread you already know that the b3 is dead and I'm forced to install the b8 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Meaning the majority of my prep work was not done yet. None the less I figured I would start the build thread. I will have pictures uploaded next week when I rerun to civilization - its too much of a pain to load them into photobucket and onto here from my phone.
Day 0.5
Nabbed the injector harnesses off the b3 and the b8. Started pulling parts out of storage.
Day 1
Only got to work on it for six hours today but none the less it was quite productive and I'm satisfied with the progress
Accomplished:
Injector harness rewired
Nessicary B3 components pulled
All harnesses and hoses disconnected (aside from the fuel lines that will happen right before the pull)
Festiva motor and trans prepped and ready to be pulled
Aspire motor and trans prepped and ready to be pulled
Still to do:
Cut stripped exhaust and shift linkage bolts on the aspire
Remove fuel lines and pull both b3's from the Festiva and the aspire
Seperate the aspire trans from the b3 and prep for the b8
Install clutch and flywheel on the b8
Mount the aspire trans to the b8
Clean engine bay
Move vaf wire to left side of engine bay
Relocate battery to the rear (includes finishing the custom batt box)
Install b8
Wire and plumb b8
Fill b8 with fluids and burp the cooling system
Install new axles
Testdrive
For those wondering why I'm pulling two b3's its because I will be doing the aspire trans swap at this time - if I have enough time left of my vacation then ill also pull an do the aspire brake swap and install the teins and new wheels
