        • Did some head gaskets on a 5.0 and got slowed down.

Cut thru most of the manifold:

And the V-band is all here. Waiting for a mandrel 2.5" to build the custom down pipe and flange it for the wide band sensor:

I used the VHT 2,000* coating. It's pretty durable, but there's a trick to it to make it last better...

Take the parts you want to coat (in my case exhaust housing and waste gate flange), clean them REPEATEDLY with oven cleaner. I'm talking spray/wait/scrub/rinse three times. Then, put them on a cookie sheet you don't care about. Place them in the oven on 450* for half an hour. What it does it allow the metal to bake off any excess crap and cleaner but also allows the metal to absorb the coating.

Pull the tray out and (for me) go straight to the back porch with your already well-shaken can of VHT and hose them down with a thorough (not drowning) coat. Wait 30-45 seconds and give it another good, even spray. Wait a couple minutes and spray it down once more. Give it at least 2 days before cranking bolts down into it.

This is a cheap, ghetto but highly effective method to using a high temp coating without having to pay out the hind-quarters.

                • Out with the old... Oren09 came over and we pulled the carby motor

I smoke cigars and... Well... Tonight we lost a good man due to drowning.

Since it's out and getting re-wired, I'm going to clean it up and give a fresh coat of A7 paint

We had a bit of down time, so we test-fitted the new strut mounts and springs. It's effin' CHOICE. Ball bearing mount and full adjustability... Gonna be fun!

It's a RaceLand hybrid setup with 200# Black Magic springs. I detailed how I made the mounts out of WRX mounts earlier in the thread

                          • Ordered a Stage 2 SPEC clutch. It's rated to 309tq and SPEC tends to err on the low end. I expect this car to make 230-340tq to the tire so this clutch should be sufficient.
