I could make them for sure. Now that I've seen how they operate I could write up a good instructional, too. I think $150 a set is fair for the bolt-in gear (plus shipping costs).

      • Oh, happy day! Care package from FRPP arrived

        ... And plug-N-play adapter connectors.

I got a big-ass box of 2.5" mandrel bends, silicone couplers and T-bolt clamps. So the intercooler comes out of hiding:

And this is what a BP26 manifold looks like after you hack the flange off.

Welding will commence soon. Stay tuned!

may be a dumb question to a more experienced person like you but isnt that mani cast? i thought it was verry verry hard to weld to cast :dontknow: thats why when people boost the b3 they switch to an aspire header because its not cast. like i said, may be a dumb question to the more experience folks.

                • Cast can be difficult to weld, you definitely have to be experienced. Welding cast requires special rod, lots of heat and experience. If you were to weld something like this as a first time welding experience, yoyr turbo would probably fall off lol. Id bet youll be surprised with the end result here

                  • Somebody else actually made a logifold from cast iron pipe fittings and it worked fine. He said to just crank up the welder to the max, and it worked.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

                    • I have next to zero welding experience, but I was told to use a high-nickel filler and pre-heat the casting to around 400 to get the best welds by a guy who's been welding it for years. Either that or braze it and use an alloy filler with lots of bonding area.

Use an oven, torch the the flange area and let a master do what I am paying him for
