Engine is looking terrific
However, BernieM displays a broken IMPACT 21mm socket and bent pickling fork while trying to remove the crank bolt. GAH!

TONS of progress. I only took this finished photo but the injectors were cleaned and flowed, the entire assembly was scrubbed down and washed. New plugs installed, AutoMeter oil sender installed, oil cooler installed (ignore the garbage Fram start-up filter) and anything that needs an O-ring is replaced. We are painfully close.
I blame you, Greg! Stupid Eurotiva and his stupid pretty painted parts...

Greg is the man.
The blue car is getting it's dash pulled today. All the in-dash wiring WILL BE HEAVILY documented for a how-to. It's seriously easier than imaginable. PS - the turbo setup is being fabbed NOW but that's the "Imma show y'all when it's done" bit1989 Carby L: Stock. Slow.

More fun stuff. AEM Uego shows up tomorrow, got my water temp gauge (all of them Autometer Z series). Scrubbed her down and prepped the block. Now she's Ford-worthy.

What is TFI that you referred to? I'm drawing a blank on that. Its really interesting to note that you discoverd the Kia harness is plug and play with the Festy.1989 Carby L: Stock. Slow.

The TFI sits on the dizzy in a 5.0, it acts as a heat sink and is a VERY common form of death in an ignition system.
Here is a 5.9L Ford dizzy with the TFI. TFI is grey, your distributor plug snaps into it....
BP ESCORT GT:
KIA BP:
The most obvious visual queue is that the Kia Sephia has no coil wire... this means that there is NOT a coil and, as such, an integrated TFI... so there isn't the heat sink complications. Easy cheesy.Last edited by DON SVO; 02-15-2013, 12:07 PM.1989 Carby L: Stock. Slow.

The gear from LADD arrived today. AMAZING quality. The. Bulkhead connector will be mounted to the firewall and allow for nano-second harness removal:
My pile of gauges is complete. Wide band, water, oil, boost... Yes I will be fabbing up a connector for one-click dash removal as well:
Polyurethane motor mount fill/prep. Not much else to say here, this $#!t sucks to work with.
I painted a few more things and generally re-assembled the front of the motor. The itch is getting BAD.1989 Carby L: Stock. Slow.
