I think 80 gallons should suffice for a home garage GreenBullitt suggested it, and I think I am going to install a PVC system with multiple quick connects throughout the garage.

            • Use Pex and some quick connects, so when you need to change it, it's not such a PITA. Pex is cheap and the type of air tight quick connects you'd need for an air line system are fair priced [compared to copper/brass or shark-bite type fittings].

Suggestion only. I use PEX almost exclusively now.

                • Howdy. Sorry for more delays but I've been doing house project after project. I've learned how to pretty much do everything under the sun regarding home remodeling. I redid all of the electrical and plumbing myself: I moved every switch and outlet in the kitchen, added 2 outlets, moved 3 switches with new wiring across the kitchen thru the attic and installed them into another wall, changed breakers in the panel, re-routed all sink plumbing for feed/drain/vent/ect.

We started here... pulling down popcorn from the ceiling, removing THREE layers of wall paper, texturing and painting:

We wanted better counter tops and sink, I said it would be awesome to open up the wall and install a bar. I didn't quite expect her to say "GO" 4 weeks later

We got a screaming deal from one of my friends on granite and install. I put in a 10" black granite sink and new faucet and started installing/cutting in all of the Hardi-backer for backsplash:

So now we go backwards and put it all back together... new sheet rock, finalize receptacle locations, install old-work outlets (you see the cuts I was making in the Hardi-backer previously), tape and bed, etc:

The bathroom also got new granite, plumbing, faucets and sinks as well. We've pulled off all the wallpaper and repainted it but I don't have a picture handy. It's been 6 weeks of straight contractor work.

So there. Sorry for the lack of updates but my Festy has been sitting for months. HOWEVER... things are in motion.

                  • Now for what else has been going on that's way more related to Festivas...

GreenBullitt decided to see if his car could drive several miles with a pegged temp gauge. His experiment brought about great failure. So, we decided to go hunting for a new drivetrain.

We found an Escort GT at a yard with a complete drive train and a Pace Setter header. It was in good shape and the price was right.

                    Testing the empty engine bay:

Trans and passenger engine mounts are in, welded and she sits waiting for linkage mods:

Trimming the cross member with a plasma cutter:

And the shift linkages are done:

His motor and trans are mounted and ready to go. Mine is next: we need to make a front trans mount for it since his trans is a hydro... I have a cable. It should be relatively painless and I'll be able to install my drive train in short order.

                    • I've decided the car gods hate me. My teal stocker blew up on the way to Wichita Falls Thanksgiving Day. It was detonating hard with any throttle input after going up inclines. I'd coast for a half mile and the temp would back off, letting me get back to freeway speed. I knew it was hurt and at the LEAST popped the head gasket. Long story short, I was able to nurse it the final 50 miles to Grandmas, have turkey with the family and back home in one piece... the little Festy went ~200 miles with what we surmise was a broken piston or severely cracked cylinder head. Good little festy!

Yesterday, Green Bullitt, BernieM and I did a quickie motor swap. Took the stocker out of the Lemons car and tossed it in my driver. She hums along happily and I've got a running Festiva again.

GreenBullitt's car has made a lot of progress. I think he needs a build thread but I keep updating his car here

All of the mounts are finished. He wants to re-do the front mount (he has a hydro G series) but that's being nit-picky. It really is a dog-ugly mount but it works. At any rate, the BP and G series are in and wired.

He made a custom vacuum reference for the brake booster and hid the wiring for the most part.

One HUGE benefit that came from the popped motor in the teal car is that we now have an empty engine bay in the Lemons car. We're hoping that we can fab up some mounts for my G-series today so that I can get some BP Festiva progress as well All of my time seems to be spent fixing blown up cars or house projects.

                      • Looks good Hoss, glad your back love the granite counters tops. Home owners ship is a labor of love. Sometimes its a love hate thing
BTW I just made a 1000 hp front mount if you would like any ideas. My B3 was pulling so hard it kept ripping the mounts and jumping into the street every hard shift. So I fabbed my own,let me know if you want any pics. I dont do "Bolt together" mounts, but it can be made with plate, angle & 2" steel pipe.
PS just drove my Aspire down to Temple and back, that was fun :gritteeth:

It's coming along... since the daily blew up on me GreenBullitt and I wasted a good Saturday pulling the crispy critter out, then pulling the B3 engine from the Lemons Festiva and then swapping that motor into the daily. It was a day we had planned to use to fab up some mounts. I'll be calling you about some specifics involving your rad mount. I know we discussed it before but I'd love some refreshers.
